Argentina always has a great source of excellent young talent...

Would like our scouts to keep a watchful eye on Luciano Vietto @ Racing Club and Manuel Lanzini @ River.

Forgot to add in our boys in Brazil, can't remember if its Sandro or Sandro30 but boys clue us up on the next Brazilian superstar to come to Europe.
I'm reasonably knowledgable on Brazil but can't say I'm a know it all. It's not my league of choice to follow after the Premiership.

Vitinho was the main breakout prospect this season but CSKA Moscow have just paid good money for him. There are others to keep an eye on like Gabriel (nicknamed Gabigol), Neilton, Doria, Otavinho but none are particularly ready, maybe Doria at a push.

Eder Alvarez Balanta. Best young CB in the world imo. Ahead of Marquinhos and Varane.
He's a left footed Ledley King

I've only seen him a few times. Prone to the odd scary moment, but overall he looks phenomenal. Reminds me of Thuram.

He's much more technical than Thuram ever was, that's why I see him more similar to Ledley. He was first a DM

Thought i'd get in very early with this one.

Kevin Akpoguma is an 18 year old German/Nigerian who I watched playing for Germany U19s in a friendly vs Greece U19s. He is 6'3", very quick, and physically strong. When I saw him he was playing at RB although he more often plays at CB and can also play as a striker. He has just signed for Hoffenheim for a million euros but has yet to appear for their 1st team.

It wasn't the greatest standard of opposition but this kid really stood out in a strong German line-up. What was most impressive about him was his maturity, positioning and reading of the game. He spent most of the match playing almost as a wing back and regularly beat the opposing full back and put in good crosses. He also passed the ball quickly and accurately. When caught upfield when Germany lost possession he got back quickly, never dived in but just sort of took the ball off of the attacker and either ran with the ball or played it calmly out of defence. I don't remember seeing him lose possession or misplace a pass in the entire match.

Obviously he has great physical attributes but he also has an excellent footballing brain which is really unusual in this age group. I don't think anyone knows his best position yet, and given AVB's reported liking for versatility he's definitely one that our scouts should keep an eye on. Very early in his career to make a judgement and as I said it was only one match against dubious quality of opposition but I just thought i'd give everyone the heads up in case he turns out to be another Beckenbauer ;).

Just thought i'd mention that the young Chilean striker Nicolas Castillo who I was banging on about in this thread during the U20s World Cup is now playing for the Universidad Catolica 1st team in the Chilean Primera division. He has scored in each of the first 5 matches this season, twice in his last match. Man Utd are sniffing around apparently. They wanted under 5M euros for him in the summer. Wonder what he would cost now?

I was impressed with him during the u20s, one I have kept a loose eye on.

Farfan. Shalke - Winger, physical as they come like AVB likes them - fast as well.

I like Farfan myself but he's a right winger which is something we're not short of, he's also 28 so not a lot of room for potential for which Townsend and Lamela have plenty of.

Only heard of this guy recently so for those who've seen him play regularly: Could he play as LB (and not just as a stop gap LB)?

He can, but he's A LOT better as a CB. It would we like using Varane, Marquinhos, etc as a RB. They can play, but it's not their position.
