Today we welcome Blackburn to White Hart Lane where 3 points for either side could see either team jump up to 14th in the league. We also welcome back Robbo who I would like think will get an awesome reception from the fans, he is a top bloke who despite not being at his best over the last 18 months of his career at Spurs always gave 100% and really did care about the club and fans. I would also like to add that we should be getting behind Gomes in the same way we got behind Robbo, because at the end of the day he is our current keeper and that isn't going to change over night.
The Official Site Team News:
Harry Redknapp reports 'one or two little problems' on the injury front as he prepares for Blackburn on Sunday.
Luka Modric and Giovani are out with groin and ankle injuries respectively while Jonathan Woodgate is expected to recover from illness.
"Jonathan Woodgate has had a bit of a virus, but hopefully he'll be okay. Other than that, we're not too badly off," said Harry on Friday afternoon.
"Luka Modric hasn't trained all week with his groin injury and is out for a couple of weeks, that's a blow because he's been terrific for us and the same with Giovani, he's out for a few weeks yet."
Skysports.com Preview:
Resurgent Spurs take on free-falling Blackburn in a crucial clash being shown live on Sky Sports 1 at 1.30pm on Sunday.
The pair are both in the relegation zone but have vastly differing form coming into this six-pointer at White Hart Lane.
New boss Harry Redknapp has galvanised Spurs since taking over, with his side embarking on a six game unbeaten run to climb off the bottom of the Premier League.
While that run was ended by Fulham last weekend after a howler by keeper Heurelho Gomes, Spurs will be full of confidence for the visit of Blackburn.
In stark contrast, Paul Ince's Rovers are now in a relegation dogfight after what was a positive start to the campaign.
They have gone seven Premier League games without a win, and dropped into the relegation zone after their 2-1 reverse at home to Sunderland last weekend.
Rovers now sit just a point above Redknapp's team and Ince will be desperate for a positive result to lift the increasing pressure.
Team news
Luka Modric will be missing for the home side after picking up a groin injury in the defeat to Fulham.
The Croatian is out for two weeks after suffering a partial tear and Aaron Lennon could replace him, as he did at Fulham.
But Redknapp is set to continue with Gomes after giving the hapless keeper a vote of confidence in midweek.
For Blackburn, Benni McCarthy could come back into the side following a family bereavement.
The striker featured in South Africa's 3-2 midweek victory over Cameroon, as did Aaron Mokoena.
Rovers' other internationals also came through their various midweek games unscathed, notably Keith Andrews, who marked his Republic of Ireland debut with a goal in the 3-2 loss against Poland.
But Vince Grella remains on the sidelines until next month with a hamstring injury.
