Not seen it mentioned yet but I think the ref was superb tonight. Let the game flow and always looking to play the advantage.

He missed a blatant yellow for Delaney when he pulled down Sissoko and likewise when Sissoko tripped Sancho but yeah apart from that it's a refreshing change to not moan about a ref.

Dortmund fans were quality also but annoying as fuck - fuckin drums.

Its like getting a blowjob, like you never say no to a blowjob but she uses her teeth - its great but something grates...

He started off appallingly with some obvious fouls missed and i'm not churlish enough to admit that the Sissoko one on Sancho was a very lucky escape for us.

Second half you barely noticed him which for me is the mark of a good ref so credit where it's due, he improved, as we did.

Can't quite stop myself thinking... maybe, just maybe.
I always err towards pessimism for my own protection - I don't truly believe in my heart that I'll ever see us win the English league title in my lifetime; it's just one of those things that seems destined to always be just out of our reach - but I too can't totally supress some errant shoots of hope that there might just be the tiniest chance we could succeed in the cup format of the Champions League.

Must re-engage Eeyore-mode soon: it's just too dangerous!!

We were a joy to watch that 2nd hàlf, absolutely flawless composed performance.

Vertonghen... After the BT/Sancho love in 1st half, it took our super Jan the whole of one half of football to work him out and turn him into a ghost whilst simultaneously turning Hakimi ( he's from Real Madrid apparently) into Wiley Coyote. Incredible display at LWB.

I also think we could open a new thread and go 100 pages on 'BT taking clichè/ totally ignorant punditry to a new level'
In the first half he told Sancho "this isn't even my final form", and in the second went full Super Saiyan.

Wow just wow! Super Jan passed as a left winger tonight that cross was sublime then his goal all our hearts burst with love for that. Watching us 2nd half I was in awe the passing, the movement and the accuracy I have to say hands down in my lifetime this is the best Spurs side I've seen it's a rock. In those 35+ years believe me I've seen flickers of a team and seen a hell of alot of woe but this team with this boss there are no limits it's everything I wanted them to be from being so mentally fragile to one now so mentally strong this team never gives up with every player now up for the battle every team has to be envious of this and most importantly fearful. I love this club and to go through the pain believe me you appreciate the gain forever COYS!! Salute to Poch the best boss we've had since Bill Nic (y)

Somehow I doubt that the press will abandon the "Spurs can't win XXX because they lack depth" mantra. It's too easy, too tempting.

We just absolutely trashed one of the best teams in Europe, defending resolutely over 45 minutes and then sweeping them off the pitch with ruthless football for the following 45 minutes, playing a tactically-adjusted masterclass in the process, without our two most famous attackers, without our first choice defensive midfielder and without either of our left backs.

WTF do they think "depth" means?

To be fair - Dortmund were also missing a fair number of players tonight.

And, though it pains me, I don't think Dier is in the best XI we can put out - even when fit.

But, your overall point is accurate - people continually underestimate the quality of the entire squad.
