Imo they aren’t looking for a replay. They will be trying to exert as much pressure as possible so the tight decisions go for them the rest of the season.

It's seriously great tbh. Pretty much everywhere I'm seeing that not only didn't we deserve to win but ackshyually Spurs are proper shit and will get found out narratives are creeping in.

Love it tbh. Don't want us to become media darlings only for them to wait to pounce when a wobble occurs. The first season of a rebuild can do without that kind of guff.

Its actually nice to hear it when you have the three points

The amounts of times we have been robbed and lost I much prefer being slagged off and getting the points

I use NewsNow quite a lot as an aggregator- what’s incredible is the sheer number of blind Liverpool fans ensures that are going on, and on.

Honestly, it’s mad. As for the conspiracy theorists - it’s hilarious.

I’ve had people I know text me saying (essentially) ‘every major decision has gone against them in recent times’.

It defies belief

If the Premier League was worried about fairness and integrity it would never have allowed the game to become so dominated by money.

The idea that every time var makes a mistake the match should be replayed is farcical. But that would be the implication whenever a team ended up losing a match with a suspect var decision going against them.

How many matches would have to be replayed over the course of a season?

How many applications would be made?

How soon before someone like Klopp starts to moan about scheduling and fixture congestion?

It would just be ludicrous.

Exactly. I can't remember anyone saying it called into question the integrity of the league when Mendes goal wasn't given. It was just funny because yet again Spurs didn't win at Old Trafford.

It was a terrible decision but it happens & has happened to us lots of times against Liverpool. It shouldn't happen now we have VAR but everything Liverpool will do now will be to make sure they get a lot more 50/50 questionable decisions go their way for the rest of the season.

what about against chelsea, i know its off topic but we have had so Many bad decisions against some clubs. Ashely cole hand balls to cross the ball, the ball that didn't cross the line clearly, another goal offside, we conceded something like 5 goals in a row to Chelsea and only 1 should have stood no one cared, so f&&& liverppol they are a dirty team and i hope they get more cards! They got lucky in the Champions League final with a handball now its there turn to have a bad decision!

if we made the top 4 this season or the top 5 it would be a huge achievement so let's enjoy the ride!

we have played Arsenal, united and Liverpool if we beat Luton we are on 20 points after 8 games with Fulham at home next!

last season was sh!te, let's enjoy this year and not give a !!!! about a decision going in our favour!

100% they will now use this to influence every game going forward. I feel for Brighton next, there getting absolutely nothing.

I think there's a difference between suspect and what this thing is so apologies for my pedantry (if that's what it is).

This wasn't a 'suspect' decision it was an epic mistake, so clear that the three blind mice were pictured faces aghast with shock. But your right, the idea is farcical and it won't happen for the reasons pretty much everyone has already mentioned.

That said, as big as the mistake was, others this season (Wolves not getting a penalty against City for example) were also clear mistakes, it's those that need eradicating. If there are 'suspect' decisions at all then VAR has failed and is failing (and we all know it is), we may as well go back to 'proper' football instead of this false insurance against referee mistakes which, lets face it, was only introduced after managers constantly (for years) cried themselves silly complaining about human error. If ever 'be careful what you wish for' had any business being uttered on here, it's over that.

The whole thing is lurching from one ridiculous incident to another, getting worse and bigger like a snowball rolling down a hill and any governing body with a pair of balls would do away with it and just leave the easy stuff, maybe goal line technology in place, there's too much ambiguity in interpretation, it's trying to do too much, rule changes are reactionary, the quality of thought that's gone into it has been suspect from the start. It's almost as if it were done by SC'ers :woot:

The amount of football fans in work this morning taking Liverpool's side is ridiculous. All believing the red card should have been a yellow. The bias Sky Sports commentary has literally fooled everyone into thinking all the decisions were wrong. I have to say, I hate Liverpool more than Arsenal.

Amazes me how blinded people are. The only major incorrect decision was the offside goal. Jota's first yellow is questionable, but may have been down to totting up and he got himself sent off with the second yellow. Jones goes over the top of the ball and into Bissouma's shin. Unlucky or not, accident or not, IT DOESN'T MATTER. It was still endangering an opponent and a worthy red. Gusto won the ball, followed through onto the ankle with studs and that was a red. So by the letter of today's law, it is a red all day long and VAR got that correct.

I only have sympathy with them on the Diaz offside and that is it. Although this uproar and their statement last night is making it harder to stay sympathetic over it.

Gary Neville has a lot to answer for. He is such a poor pundit and commentator these days. He is providing analysis and opinion on rules that he played under decades ago. Pundits like him and others need to realise the rules are now different and they need to show referees more respect with these red card decisions. There opinions should be based on the rules now and in light of that, it was a clear red.

I also dont think someone like Neville who is involved in politics should have the platform he has with football punditry.

100% as I have said elsewhere I am still as annoyed bout Kane's offside at Southampton. To me it just as bad as Saturday decision. I'm sure there a countless others too. Sonny at Leicester too.

seems like the conclusion is that Liverpool lost the game, not that we won.

while i am fine going under the radar, i think the team deserves credit for the performance, i think our style of play caused the sending off, these days we play with more risk, so it does make it more tempting for a player to dive in and win the ball.

yes, we were lucky to get all 3 points, but i think at times, you make your own luck.

at the end of the day, drama sells news. not a surprise to see more of these complaints over the next few days.............. :sorry:

I don't think the Jota 1st yellow is questionable. He knew what he was doing & deliberately cut across Udogie. That was a promising opportunity for us to break & Jota thought he'd take the chance to bring him down on half way before there was time to see if it would develop into a good chance for us. I thought there had been a push this season to clamp down on those types of fouls

And the biggest thing is people are talking as if that Diaz goal meant they would have 100% won if it rightly counted? We are second only to Liverpool in coming from behind to gain points and there was plenty of time to do so.

This whole thing is baffling.
