So they realised the mistake almost immediately but by that point the game has already restarted?

Nothing to see here. Just a mistake. Time to move on.

Glad not to be on the receiving end of this complete and utter shambles. Whomever designed this system clearly didn’t look at rugby or cricket when setting standards for best practice. Doesn’t sound like there’s a clear methodology / process in place.

curlacious

Don’t look at me. I’m irrelevant.

Yes, a hectic conversational scramble. The real issue here is there is no override process following a restart if a glaring mistake is made.

Sounded messy, reckon there's lot they can learn and improve from this.

VAR mistake. Though would wrongly still be called offside without VAR.

Both reds correct.

Move on.

Why so many people talking and asking questions.

All that needs to happen is this

Ref : onfield decision is offside. Please check of diaz is offside.

Var can do their chat about 2d lines

VAR : diaz onside, outcome is goal.

The above would be more like a rugby ref tmo call, The lack of clarity within the questions is poor from all sides in that var call.

This sh#tshow from Livarpool, since the game ended will only cement the brothers bond all fighting for each other Ange's installing.
I hope we rout Luton on Saturday to take us into the international break top of the league, for rival fans to soak up daily during the break.

They seemed absolutely desperate not to spend a second more on it than necessary. In reality just another 5 seconds was all that was needed to convey clearly the outcome of the check.

All they really need to do to stop this particular cluster fuck happening again is add the decision to the return message, so "check complete - onside" instead of just "check complete". That way they don't even need to know the on-field decision.

Although a complete shambles, it shows how wrong Liverpool were to question sporting integrity, it was a cock up and they knew it straight away. No malice in it.

I was expecting a lot more panic and swearing when they realised how big a a F**k UP had just occurred. They almost sound like they’re not fussed at all :)

Its a shit mistake, no more. There is no agenda or conspiracy.

After listening to that my one take away is, that it’s shit being an official. It’s so convoluted there’s no wonder they get things wrong. I actually feel sorry for them. I suspect because they are under such pressure to get these things correct quickly it actually makes it worse.

They are under too much pressure from everyone to do it quickly and that’s why the error occurred I reckon.

Fully expect their fans to protest at their next home game with it being lead by Phil Thompson, Steve Nicol, Micky Quinn and the ghost of Bill Shankly.

They edited out the bit where Daz says "check complete; Scousers fucked" and they all piss themselves laughing before chair shotting Klopp from behind...

The other factor is that has been a red card for YEARS!!

It isn't a new rule or something that has been debated for a while.

It has happened a great number of times in the last 10 years and usually ends with a red.

In fact, when it doesn't end in red, there is usually uproar that the player wasn't sent off and he is a "lucky boy"
It would have been a. Red card in the 70s, he barely touches the ball and then nearly breaks Bissouma’s leg ffs

Impressive how they were able to edit out Ant and Dec’s audio in the background I thought

Hopefully this puts it to bed. It clearly a genuine mistake, yes a bad one but was not deliberate and hopefully protocol will now be put in place that it won't.happen again.

I think the scousers were expecting some kinda of deliberate drawing of the lines wrong or some other kinda of cover up.

They just have to suck it up.

However next week any foul on pool player anywhere on the pitch will result in a penalty to liverpool. 🤣

The worst panic in a public setting is when you become so paralyzed with fear that you become unable to speak or even think clearly.
