Winks is looking back to his best finally. Sharp, competitive and good in tight spaces again. He's our best midfielder now and should be starting most games.

Dembele I think should only be brought on to close out a game for 20/30, he's just not got the legs anymore as today proved.

It would've been great to say that this was two heavyweight contenders slugging it out in a top of the table clash with City coming out of it as narrow victors....but it wasn't. In reality it was a very subdued and unusually quiet Man City against a Spurs side that seemed to be selected for dogged defending and physical presence rather than attacking flair. Substitutions made maybe too late allowed our attack to flicker into life but all in all it was a respectable one nil loss and we move on. It could have been a lot, lot worse.

Some of the bollox on here

When we win we are great; when we lose we are shit.

No comprehension that players move in and out of form - they are either great and the next week shit.

What a bunch of jokers football supporters generally are.

Common sense and reason, something that cuts against the grain in here.

We played against the likely PL Champions for this season, and again, played an away game. It's easy to come out and simply say "thriw money at the problem", but in reality the Club have never done that (without selling first) and likely never will.

I think we do need to add, and think that Poch will do in January, but i wouldn't expect us to be close to being one of the big spenders in that transfer window, or indeed next Summer.

We gave a good account of ourselves, and this result will far from define our season.

We were OK and the players gave everything. But I think there is justified frustration. There is a cloud over the team. Delays to our new stadium, unsigned player contracts, no new signings, bad management of player fitness, negative vibes from the manager. It’s starting to add up.

And while no one is to blame for all of it, I feel there is negativity across the board from fans to players and the manager that is making failure this season inevitable. And it’s not.

Our rivals have moved ahead of us but that doesn’t mean we can’t still win trophies. How many times have we outdone our rivals in the league to see them lift trophies? We have plenty to play for and we can only improve.

Funny how people are so quick to have a pop at Lamela who has been in great form lately. Yet nobody mentions Moura who has been pretty bloody awful for quite a while now.

Anyone who read Jamie Redknapps words on Poch this week will have remembered the Poch is a perfectionist who likes to have every single detail covered. The stadium situation is definitely affecting his preparation, the lack of preseason with all the squad is definitely affecting them, the lack of (early) signing is affecting them.

We needed at least 2-3 new signings in the summer. Instead we got the cream of fuck all, but at least we’ve got a nice new stadiu... oh wait.

Now we go into January, a transfer window where typically not much happens unless you pay stupid money, realistically needing an urgent overhaul of 3-4 positions and more depth in a couple more.

I know you lot are hopelessly optimistic, and I wish I was like the rest of you but when you compound everything - the transfer window cock ups, the stadium cock ups, the lack of new contracts, the champions league capitulation, the World Cup fatigue, the public negativity from the manager, the fact that season ticket holders of several years can no longer be arsed to go...

I can’t help feeling it’s all over. We got painfully close, but we’re too far behind the likes of City and Liverpool now to ever catch up. Not just this season, but in general. This summer was crucial. We fucked it. This is the result.

And yes I know, great start etc etc - doesn’t change the fact we’re playing like a bag of bastards, are miles off the top 3 in terms of quality, and even the manager sounds like he’s had enough.

Fun while it lasted.

The one incident in the game that summed up the difference in the sides for me was when Kompany came on in injury time. Sprinted into position, organised the back four, pushed his team out, got at them, won a header. Wanted that clean sheet more than anything and played his part for 2 minutes. Absolute quality. We need a player like him in this team, an Edgar Davids type.

You have to be realistic Man City have spend hundreds of millions of pounds more than us over the last 8 years since we beat them to 4.
Is it really fair to the manager and the players to call them shit and say I don’t care if they leave?

What about the Watford and PSV Fisher Price XI? Our players are superstars in comparison yet we fluffed our lines against both of them. There’s no shame in getting beat by a better side and/or having an off day but this season barring may be Man U away we haven’t looked like a team united and on the same wavelength as each other. We’ve bundled our way to multiple victories and look a shadow of our former selves. It’s one thing winning ugly but there’s so many things wrong this season that the negatives vastly outweigh the positives.

Yes we should have signed a few players, yes we should have sorted the stadium out etc. But for fuck sake some of the comments from you lot about giving up on going to watch the club and what a joke we are need to seriously sort yourselves out

Except that we have generally played very poorly all season...so I don't think anyone has been saying we have been great...even when we have been winning.

Yeah I know, but changing Manager Won't help. Any other manager will struggle to better what Poch achieves on this budget. That's my point.
The point I was trying to make is we’ve become stale and even the likes of Lloris and Poch are beginning to underperform in their roles. Poch isn’t immune from criticism. He’s got a lot of things wrong this season and I was even beginning to question if he was doing certain things out of spite. His team selections, his substitutions, his repeat selections of certain players.

We’ve gone backwards and we are really stale. This isn’t just on the back of tonight, this has been for a while now. Everyone can see it, not everyone wants to say it.

If you think the problems at the club are mere fluctuations in individual player form, then I can’t help but feel you definitely haven’t been paying attention.

Theres plenty on here who have doubted the ability of some of these guys for a while. I harped all summer Dembele & Trippier were not of the required quality.
