Anyone know why they didn’t have any replays on in the ground?
Because I might have tried to kill Kevin Friend.Anyone know why they didn’t have any replays on in the ground?
What did you make of Gary Neville's post-match comments about Poch leaving?
I read all your posts whilst pretending to sing like Frank Sinatra. So the 'Golden Age' is over.
Pochettino has gone
and all the players departed
that got us into the CL recently.
Funny I must have missed all that
in the Stadium nonsense.
We were narrowly beaten by the team
odds on to win the league
and should have drawn at least.
Nothing to do with bottle, killer instinct, mental toughness
or all the other psychological bullshit
body language or whatever.
Lamela's shot set up by Dele goes in
and we are the new world champions
nearly.
I don't think he ever had the pace to get on that. It's as if people think he had pace before his injury. He looks sharp of late to me. Our final ball to him is generally the big issue. He'll start firing once Eriksen and Alli hit form.Just seen Kane’s first half miss. That was as bad as lamela’s for me.
I didn’t think his first touch was bad to get the ball out of his feet, the problem was that his acceleration has completely gone. In all of the last three seasons he gets a shot off there.
I just don’t know how he gets that umpf back.

Personally I don't believe Poch is leaving/thinking of leaving. If I am wrong I'll come right out and admit it, not that it will be any consolation.
With regard to G.Nev though - He talks some good stuff and has a nice trophy cabinet somewhere full of all his medals accumulated during his career.
I think he came out with a good defence of the alleged Poch situation, transfers (lack of lol) and the stadium clusterbundle. Many a time he has come out and agreed and supporter the 'unique' Spurs way of doing things and he will call us out for lack of trophies etc.
My only reservation with this whole scenario is the media - driving stories to create headlines for sensationalism and the Carragher /Neville show being a good cop bad cop headline grabber.
Are Sky playing Devils Advocate and promoting and prolonging a story to get headlines ? If so it definitely is working.
Poch has intimated that he was grumpy at that presser and a IMO lot of stuff he says gets 'misinterpreted' by clickbait football info whores - Geoff Shreeves came out and said as much yesterday following a talk with Poch, lost in translation was what he made of a lot of it.
I love scooping up every bit of Spurs info from many diverse sources throughout the internet but I am ever so sceptical now with some of the gutter journos and I refuse to look at their shit stirring.
Tbh i expected a lot worse performance and a more onesided game. (have to say I have only seen the 2nd half live)
If we had Eriksen and Dele on from the start and Kane in form we could have won. Think the effort was good, Sissoko with the best game since joining us - german pundits raving about Sissoko probably the best player on the pitch (a bit OTT for me ) but credit where credits due.
Trippier and Davies absoluetly out of form - a big problem, considering the importance of fullbacks in Pochs system. Walker wasn't any better yesterday though.
Winks have to start from now on, he is a lively spark in a stubborn midfield.
If Lamela hit that ball properly, we would have draw that game - think it is the pitch to blame a bit, but I don't want to blame the pitch for our shortcoming, think it played a part in City not being able to be at their best attacking wise too.
It highlighted once again for me that we are not much away from challenging those sides. But we should have invested in 2-3 quality back ups in crucial positions. Kane, Dele/Eriksen and a CM backup are desperatly needed. You could see what difference it made when Dele and Eriksen started to open up their defence while Winks managed to carry the ball out from the back.
The realist (Neville) versus the dreamer (Carragher). We've had many debates similar to this over the years. I agree with Carragher to an extent because we all want to challenge for titles and we have to spend to do that. I also agree with Neville though, we can only spend what we have and this amazing stadium has restricted us. For me it's a debate over doing things our way and not giving into the wealthy billionaires club. Versus selling up to a billionaire and throwing money for success. The longer we go without winning things the more we'll want the latter. Here's the Carragher/Neville debate:

As it happened I agree with Carragher....in tens years time we will look back on this 4-5 year period under Poch and see it for the missed opportunity it was.
Pochettino quickly debunked that talk before the game. In his interview he suggested his comments were about motivating his players for the match. He seemed a lot happier before and even after this game. I think he's a victim of being honest at times. His comments were just him being open and speaking his mind. I don't think it's because he plans to leave anytime soon. He said he will be here when we move into the new stadium and he's a man of his word.Just seen this.
