Yes but how many times can we keep saying oh well we’ll fire eventually… but who is to say we will? We are all assuming our front 3 will suddenly click but they don’t look like doing that. We played well in one game this season and that’s Fulham.
The players looked exhausted yesterday also but still there is next to no rest and rotation, if we keep running our players into the ground they won’t click.
Probably cos of last season when we were the top scorers in the league over about a 5 month period under Conte. We know what it looks like when the players are on form.

Son has probably never been this off form in his entire time at Spurs. You think that's going to last all season?

Except

We have played well in more than just 1 game
Our forward showed how they can click in the fulham game and in countless games last season
Playing well going forward is only one aspect of the game
There has been plenty of rest and rotation, more than most teams around us id say - Davies/Deki/Perisic/Bentancur all been rested at times in the last few weeks that is over a third of the team right there. Even Kane came off last weekend.

Scumbags but sure they will get let off by the weak Uefa.
Could see plenty of stuff being thrown the other way as well. And what was the lardy Spurs lad thinking climbing over the railing, do these fuckwits not understand they are literally watched from every possible angle on CCTV?

Not sure what instructions are given pre game but we are seriously shit in the first half of games.
Glad that we won the game but the sending off helped us and without it it's doubtful that we win the game.
The team are certainly having a lot of luck and that is helping to paper over the cracks which I suspect a very good city team will expose.
I don't get the dithering around with the ball at the back, the lack of any creation within the team and what has happened to son, he has literally gone to shit can't pass or score he is woefully out of form.
At the moment we are riding our luck but that will come crashing down soon if the team doesn't sort itself out such a chore to watch us.

The irony of your post is that the sending off was a direct result of drawing Marseille onto us and hitting them on the break.

Yes seen a few thrown by our thick fans not excusing that and hopefully they get banned for life.
The majority of the trouble seemed to be from the away fans though.

We were in the safe standing area right next to them - absolute animals, I never knew they were like that. Admittedly, we have our share of idiots, many of whom ran over to provoke them as much as possible, it was total chaos!
Hope we don't get in trouble because if a few stupid yobs. The select few ruin it for all the other fans.

Did you happen to watch our attack last season from February on?

We had two attempts on target (both went in) at home to the team from Pot 4 who played circa 39 minutes with 10 men. The result is the most important thing, but the overall performance was far from impressive so I can understand some fans expressing concerns.
What's Pot 4 got to do with it, Frankfurt are Pot 1
They played with 10 men because we exploited the space at the back
Fans are entitled to express concern, but we won and deservedly so

Got home from the game late last night. It's great to be back in the Champions League, the atmosphere and the build up etc. Loved the sight of it all again.

As for the performance, yes I agree we weren't at our best but we got the job done. We were not half as bad as some people are saying but yes I agree we can and will need to improve and I'm confident we can and will.

Conte highlighted what was wrong in the first half and I agree, we lost possession too cheaply in the first half too many passes went astray and too many duels were lost. We were not lucky with the red card we created that situation with that incisive bit of play very early on, bringing Kulu on made a huge difference and eventually their time wasting and gamesmanship at going down at even the slightest contact came back to bite them and deservedly so. That is one thing we will have to get used to like night and day that far more contact is allowed in PL games and we need to adjust more quickly. So pleased that Richy got his brace.

Being in the North stand but comfortably enough away from the scenes with my partner as she came along with me meant we did see the unsavoury behaviour of the Marseille fans, I hope they are punished for it. With Uefa being Uefa they are likely to fine us, and their fine will be slightly higher. I doubt there will be a stadium ban for the return away fixture.

The rain and getting wet whilst waiting for the train back didn't dampen our spirits, its onwards and upwards COYS !

Not sure how it came across on TV but it was a tough watch in the stadium.

We never really looked in any danger of conceding but Marseille did a good job of closing down the midfield space when we were trying to turn the ball around the corner quickly. They were constantly snapping away while we had no intention of holding the ball or controlling possession. Both teams kind of cancelled each other out but it made for a very uninspiring game of football.

Great to see Richy getting his first goals even if the first was v poor from the keeper. Main thing with the group stage though is that we got the 3pts and can now look to the weekend and how we can make sure City worry about us as much as we worry about them.

Look, we got the job done. We played amazing football when it was 1 game a week last season. We had to manage the game. Difficult to expect a high intensity performance twice a week.

We just need to keep it ticking over.

We've had warning from UEFA before about or stewarding not being good enough. I doubt they will be too happy about last night.
I sit in block 119 in the East Lower so literally feet from the Away fans which is great when we are winning but crap when we aren't. The Marseille fans were giving it large and a few lighters got thrown when the second goal went in but the stewards - English and French - were doing their best and a line of police were deployed at 2-0; the main trouble seemed to be where the fans faced off to one another in the North stand

Don't expect high intensity performances every game, just professional footballers being able to string a few passes together, which in the first half they were incapable of doing...
