Out thought and out fought. Sanchez and Winks have improved under Conte, but they reverted to type tonight. And Emerson had as bad a game I can remember from any Spurs player and I have seen some utter garbage in my time

I really pissed at him playing for us. Makes me miss Aurier so fucking much.

Also when you see KWP line up against us. That looks like a bad decision. I bet FP is squirming a bit about Royal.

Get some physicality, athleticism and players who can play through the press.

Southampton pressed and we can't overcome them because our midfielders can't play under pressure or put the pressure back on them.

Rancid. Rancid defensive performance. We are going to blow another chance at top 4 because we were too indecisive and just crap in the transfer market.

Imagine getting it so badly wrong in your job like whoever scouted Royal, and there being no consequences.

I've been saying it since Nuno days. He his absolute hot garbage and has shown nothing to suggest he has potential.

Emerson had an absolute nightmare today along with Sanchez. Coupled with Moura not supporting them defensively and our central midfield being very bland until Bentancur came on, I don't have any complaints about the result. Southampton played well and we didn't.

As bad defensively as I can remember, but midfield offered zero cover, I watched Winks closely that game, the guy is a fraud, when 2-1 up his fuck up put us back on the back foot, but not just that, constant back passes in possession, never properly closing players, always getting shrugged off, should be nowhere near a starter for us.

Emerson, Sanchez, Winks, Hojbjerg and to a lesser degree Lucas and Davies were terrible tonight. Still lots of work to be done. Didn’t think it was a banker but expected 3 points and another good performance. Hopefully Skipp and Dier back at the weekend. Emerson needs dropping! Conte going mad that time should have fired them up but they looked like they were in a coma all night!

Got what we deserved. They were miles better than us in every department. Our central midfield two is not good enough for a real top side. Neither Winks or PEH are really good enough and it got shown clearly tonight.

Emerson and Sanchez both being on the right is not good enough either, their defensive frailties show up yet again.

Just shows that in the summer we clearly need another top quality centre back, a new right back and another centre midfield as the very minimum. If we don’t do that then next season top 4 will be a no chance.
