99%?

Righto.
Fair enough, I exaggerate. But way too many negative performances.

I guess that ultimately it isn't the way that I enjoy watching football being played.

You can't argue that we've had many really enjoyable and entertaining performances under Jose? A few yes, but we have been turgid for a lot of games.

Lamela and Moura dont score that many goals but have great energy

Would the system we played against WBA be more effective we played Bale instead of Lamela on the right?

Bale would give us more of a goal threat the only problem would be , does this leave our RB too expose as Bale is not as hard working as Lamela in tracking back.

Absolutely, no argument there.

Flip Flop ;) (sorry fishandaricecake, couldn't resist) recently put up his appraisal of our performances in a RAG assessment which, if I'm honest, wasn't too far off the mark, though I'd have had some of the Amber's as greens personally, but that subjective dependent on what you enjoy personally from those performances. I couldn't disagree too much with the reds though as we really were abject in those games. But they highlighted, for me, what I've been saying all along, the system isn't really the issue, it's the application of it.

To offer a counter to the question you've put forward, can you honestly say that, when our counter has clicked, it hasn't given you some excitement? Picking off a forced error then 3 passes later it's in the back of the net doesn't excite when it's sudden, explosive any is clearly the intent from the system?
It does me, which is why I think there's such disparity between myself & a few others, and those others that yearn for Pep style Football. Each way is, in it's own way, producing a beautiful goal, but I think the counter goal has a larger element of excitement to it. Look at the counter goal Liverpool scored the other day against WH, I think it was. Corner at their own end picked off, long diagonal ball from TAA, first time ball from Shakiri, 2 touches and in from Salah. Commentators went mad about that goal at the time and they never stopped banging on about it for 2 days afterwards. THAT'S the kind of excitement that kind of goal brings, whilst you never really get that from the majority of City goals because there's generally 10 to 20 unexciting manoeuvre passes before the final incisive one. Very pretty, but not particularly exciting. Some people prefer that, and I get that, others, like myself, love the powerful, explosive "tear you a new one before you've come to terms with losing the ball" goals that we have served up on occasion this season.

But again, to each their own.

I still maintain that our biggest issue is our midfield not doing what they're supposed to do in the system, in those games we've looked really poor in. Dropping too deep, against instructions, too many lacking in the technical ability going forward that is required, and with egos that their ability can't back up, hence why I've said we need to upgrade a few, Winks and Sissoko being the first 2 names out of the hat. There are a few others that need replacing too to get the system working the way it should consistently, for which JM will need another window at least imo.

What I'll add too is that, when integrating any new system, there will be bumps along the road and players not suited. Poch had the same issues before he got us to where he wanted us to be, with a lot of mainstays cast off early doors. When he got that team right they deserved far more than they got, but it took him around 2 seasons before we saw effectively the finished product? It took Klopp 3-4 seasons and Pep 2.

Shouldn't JM be given the same consideration and patience?

You can't get an effect from the odd wave and shout if the tactic of pressing hasn't been coached in to them during the week...
Come on, Tibsy - is that even remotely feasible?

So, he spends the week essentially 'waving them back' in training and then when it comes to game time 'waving them forward'?

To what purpose? What possible reason could he and his coaching staff have for doing something like that?

EDIT: Trix beat me to it. As you were.

We should definitely sign Raquel Welch. Would distract the opposition enormously.

He's not putting it in mate, you can't pick him on form from 2 years ago. It's not like he hasn't had chances to show some intent because he has.
