Dele was the biggest winner by far tonight, frankly a class above anyone else on the pitch and it’s frustrating to see how little we have seen of a player of such talent,
While I agree he had a good game and scored a good goal, one of our better performance and my MOTM I am not buying into the nonsense that he was a class above everyone else on the pitch.

He’s phenomenally good in the box, but his overall play is a bit lacking, particularly considering that he’s a decent passer, quick and all that . I’d happily keep him 40m is too much but I suspect they’d sell him for less, the issue is how much less? These Portuguese clubs are very happy to hold out for top dollar.
His hold-up play is already exceptionally good - five or six times today, at least. We need to refrain from comparing him to Kane. He's a straight-up no. 9. Holds the ball up, occupies players in the box, knows how to finish with head or foot, gets a lot of close-range finishes. He has a few years of development ahead of him and it's his first year in the league, so I think he's done OK.

My main criticism of him has been that he reacts too slowly - he sometimes fails to anticipate and he doesn't take enough risks with his runs. It was really noticeable in his first couple of matches that he was in the right place repeatedly, but usually late to the ball because he hadn't started early enough. That improved for a few matches, but there were several incidents of that nature today, before he scored. It was as if once he had his name on the scoresheet, he took more risks. He needs to do that from the start.

This game was everything we know about Spurs currently. Comfortable on the ball, created chances, some nice interchanging of play and shit at the back.

I cannot get my head round how supposed top level defenders get done so easily with a straight ball. It happens two or three times every single game. The problem in our team is glaringly obvious and we have to sign two new CBs in the summer in my opinion.

The good stuff was great tonight, Alli, Bale, Vinicius scoring yet again and seeing some of the youngsters come on.

Scarlett’s assist in the Europa league is the first one by a 166 year old since MBappe against us

Yup, from the BBC

Tottenham 4-0 Wolfsberger (Agg: 8-1)
Aged 16 years and 337 days, Tottenham's Dane Scarlett is the first 16-year-old to assist a Europa League goal since Kylian Mbappe in December 2015 for Monaco against Tottenham.
??

Is it time to say we have the new Mbappe?? I sink so, I sink so ? ?

Jose just called Dane a diamond with incredible potential in his post-match interview with the biggest smile I've seen from him in a long, long time. It's not often you hear him heap praise on a player like that

Jose just called Dane a diamond with incredible potential in his post-match interview. I like when Jose is happy, let's hope we can build on this and get a win against burnley as well

He was extremely candid about Dane. Nice to hear!

When you think the video of that Scarlett interview with the U13s was only like 3 years ago, it's unbelievable how young he is but he doesn't look out of place at all. He's swift as well. Apart from whatever the hell Lavinier did right after he came on, all 3 of the kids put in solid cameos. We've definitely got some great young talent coming up.
Yes, though they do all look a bit raw still and some way from the first team, which is what you’d expect really. Lavinier, being 20, on this performance I think he’s unlikely to make it here, but you never know and nerves play a part too. I liked the look of John, and at 17 he has time on his side, but producing CMs is kind of the thing we do at this club and he has a lot ahead of him (Devine, skipp and White). Scarlett is the closest to being ready to contribute to the first team and even though he’s raw, he always looks sharp, wouldn’t surprise me to see him in the first team picture two years or so from now.

LOL They showed our upcoming prem games and Crouch listed some of the tough ones like "Villa, Palace, Burnley" but completely ignored Arsenal.

Things are nowhere near as bad as the general atmosphere would suggest.
Things looking better in midfield and attack just the defence needs sorted and hopefully we go on a good run to the end of the season. Last few weeks pervormances have been good just stupid defensive errors costing us.

Listening to the report on BT, we have played 41 games, which is more than anybody else in the top 5 leagues in Europe.

Maybe it’s a bit hyperbolic but both his goal and his first assist were things that very few players are capable of. Ability wise Dele is a special player, and we’ve seen that over the years as well. It’s all about consistency really. Though he’s always going to blow a bit hot and cold, when you take risks that’s an inevitability.

Ha, I thought Lavinier looked decent barring the slip, assured on the ball, strong, quick, didn’t hide at all. I thought John looked the least likely of the three to make it but you can’t judge on a 20 minute cameo.

Great to see the kids get a run out though. Would rather watch them play with fight and hunger each week than some of the shite we’ve endured from so called first team players this season.
