Once people take a breath they should realize that even in the first half, after the goal, the energy levels dropped and kept dropping. Winks and Sissoko have played so well in this run but just seemed to be running on fumes.
Shame that we didn't have Lamela, Dier, Wanyama, Dembele to come in and give us some energy.
Was a bit disappointed that Moura didn't show energy when he came on.

Bad day. Get some rest and let's go again.

Sorry lads, that's the first game I've been able to sit down and watch at real time, rather than on catch up or highlights, for about 6 weeks. Might be on me........

However what I would say is that in recent games I've seen some scintillating sharp attacking play (mostly in open games......) but some rather poor unconvincing stuff defensively and plenty of riding our luck. Today when we were flat and uninspiring some defensive issues came to the fore and luck ran out. Whatever the league position says, whatever run of results we've been on, whatever the mitigating circumstances such as injuries, patched up teams etc we just aren't as good as previous years when we haven't got the ball. Collectively and individually.

I thought it was a dull game at 1-0 up and we barely deserved to be winning. The second half we did virtually nothing and just got worse, and were duly punished. A number of things were off today - fitness, individual displays, tactics/shape/selections - and a real bad day at the office all round. Oh dear.

We needed an experienced player like Moutinho to come on and keep the ball moving. He helped change the game. He cost Wolves 5 million which shows you there are players out there who can help your squad without spending silly amounts.

Not scoring the second goal cost us. I understand why we tried to manage the game, but the pace was too slow and we got caught on the counter. As long as it was only 1-0 Wolves were always in this game.

Sometimes I wonder if our scouting department watch games. Wolves targeted Davies and had shown their pace in the first game. Why not Rose for this one and Davies for the previous game?

To be honest we have given up a lot of chances in our last few games and gone unpunished. We didn't get away with it today.

Unfortunately I don't think we have it in us to win a title, yet.

We do so much good work up until the crunch match, then it all goes wrong. Two FA Cup semi finals, Leicester at home, Juventus in the CL.

This is why winning a trophy like the league cup or the EL would be so huge for us. They may not be the major trophies everyone wants, but they would give such a huge boost to this squad.

Neither have Liverpool, they're not labelled legends. Half way through a season, second in the table, a LOOOOONG way to go. How have we bottled anything? Or are you one of the new set of modern fans that expects us to win every game 3-0 playing champaign football? Not going to happen with ANY team. You do realise that winning trophies in 2018, is harder than at any point in history.
I'm fucking ancient I was 6 when we won the double, great times in the early 80's, and, and apart from the odd bone thrown our way I'm still waiting. Put it on my tombstone.

Why oh why does poch not do anything when it becomes clear that we are going to get continuously penned in and eventually concede? It happens in ever damn defeat he just doesnt sense it or change anything.
Exactly the same v arse when they had us pinnes back and we couldnt win the ball or keep it he did nothing then too. Same at watford when we were struggling with their physical nature.

He has games where he does **** all. What has lamela done to deserve to be sat on the bench?

Im never taking us challenging seriously again. Poch should change his attitude before he says that about the fans because once again we buy into it again and look....we bottled it and concede 3 at home to wolves.

Im done

Spot on.

Lot of fans thought this was a formality and were more concerned with what the best result of the Liverpool vs Arse game would be best.

I don’t think Poch has been happy with the fans for a while. Hence the comments this week about getting in the new stadium ASAP.

And THAT is why we desperately needed that central midfielder in the summer!

that, and a AM/FW option that can impact the game.

basically a griezman where he can play with kane as a WF, but replace kane also as an ST

Skipp for who?
Trippier and Davies come off and who do we put in?
I personally don't rate Trippier
We need to invest, that is now so obvious.
We have injuries to Dier, Wanyama, Dembele, Lamela... All midfielders.
we won't buy anyone unless we shift out those useless players, no matter in terms of ability and fitness, and no one would buy them

My final thought on this game.

We really didn't learn anything we dont know about this bunch . And wolves just managed to we expose all of our weaknesses in one game

Lloris is diminishing rapidly

The fullbacks arent good enough

We have massive problems in cm due to injuries

If eriksen or dele aren't playing (and they might as well hadn't) then we just don't tick

Poch is poor with subs and tactics when other teams are on top of us

Truth is although we were poor today, to have racked up 45 points in 20 games is very impressive.

Most seasons we'd be top with that total. The lads need to calm themselves and go again.

CL qual.

For a cup, the domestics have always been our best bet, not the Prem.

I’ve always wanted the cups over CL qualification. But then again I like going to finals and watching us win. Although granted it’s a rare occurrence.
