I would be very surprised if thats the case. I think Palacios could be #4, Bassong #12 and Boateng #28. That would make sense.

Keane was no10 before he left so it was nailed on he would get back at some point you only had to look at the training pics he didn't have a number on his shorts so you put 5 and 5 together and you get 10,no11 is usually a midfield player just look at other clubs most of the players wearing 11 will play in midfield

Oscar Jansson, think he was 30, if 30 for Dervitte, i can see him given Alnwick No. 27 or Sanchez No. 13.
Depends on that, Bassong 13 or 28, Boateng may leave but possible Numbers 19 or 24.

I don't think the club plan to leave special no. for new player, it's seem we always let current players to get what they want ( to give them a bit of respect ) instead of waiting on possible X signing ( who may not join ) .. we did that for Bent No.10 despite being heavily linked with Arshavin.

so don't be optimistic/Pessimistic about possible signings when you see shirt numbers vs Olympiakos or Liverpool, we could still sign DM or LB/LM ( depends on Bale ) or striker even if you see O'Hara No.4, Bale No.3 & Keane No.10 .

Because I dont see Bale as a Left back. He is to attack minded and would do better in the Midfield also IMO the No. 3 shirt doesnt suit him, like the No.5 doesnt suit Bentley.

When Bentley signed a friend of mine was in contact with me through last season's Orient friendly as her husband is mates with him.

She broke the news to me before it all became official (I posted some of this last season in ITK forum) and she said Bentley had wanted no.7 but it had already been given to Lennon (even though it looked likely he may be moved on at the time to us fans).

So that backs up what you've just said about the club giving numbers to those there at the time over newbies.

I think Bent would even have kept no.10 if he hadn't left. Eek

Oh and Sanchez was no.21 in his very short stay with us - the only player who used 13 last season was Stalteri. :up:

That is a lot neater but think Assou-Ekotto has an affinity with no.32 as wore it for his previous club.

Palacios remains to be seen as we haven't seen his shirt yet although unlike Defoe who snatched the 18 as soon as Campbell, left Palacios was still wearing 12 during our friendlies.

I reckon we were keeping no.4 for Viera as a one-off kinda rule. ;-)

bostock and a few others have been taken off the first team profiles on OS

Bostock should play some part today. We are actively searching for teams who want to loan our players - expect Bostock, Rose ect to go on three month loans to Championship teams, to be extended if they play well and regularly.

Saying that, a couple will probably be kept on as backup.
