What's St Wengerin day? I thought it was more like St Whinger's day

Regardless, I agree with most of the other posters, let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

This season though if we finish above arsenal and if we do it with a few games remaining we need to call it something. Every year i get the St Totteringham's Day crap from a couple of arsenal supporting friends. I really hope we finish above them because i'm going to enjoy rubbing it in.

Maybe once we finish higher than them ten years on the bounce we can start thinking about that!

No we don't. That would mean we are just as stupid as they are.

I say let them have their St Silly Cnts day.

Think we should quietly enjoy our current but only marginal supremacy, but no more than that.

And gently scoff at any suggestions we are laughing at their annual capitulation, sending a clear message we have our own rather fkin enormous fish to fry...

This.

To each their own I suppose, but the St Silly bollox stuff I always found rather childish and cringeworthy.

Now we want to emulate it?

I thought we had a little more imagination than that.

We don't need to mock them, we can just stand back and laugh at them all fighting with each other and having emotional breakdowns on ArsenalFanTV

Plus I was always taught never to mock the mentally challenged

To some extent it depends what we are celebrating? Winning the league? CL qualification? Especially if they finish fifth and have to do Thursday nights?

But If we are second and them third, or third and fourth respectively, whilst I'd still be well pleased of course because I had no such expectations I'd just be thinking that fck for that, hope we can sustain this etc..

I'm not of the Facebook generation, all I know is my goon mates won't want to see my smile but cannot avoid it forever. And that will hurt them much more deeply than me digging out and throwing a silly copycat name or gifs at them.

That smile, or them just thinking about it when they get knocked out of one competition after another, or we keep picking up the points in the league, has much more impact. Sometimes silence or just a little reaction is far better.

This, the whole of this, and nothing but this.

I'm not really a massive fan of all this before we have achieved anything. We could still finish 5th whilst Arsenal play another season of CL football. They could even still win the league! How funny would it be then?

Problem is everyday is St. Whingers day when Arsenal draw or lose. Dont you see the meltdowns on arsenal tv ect.

There has been a choking video going about on facebook today, which is quiet funny, but in all honesty, there is no shame losing to Barcelona.

I think I'll keep my head down and my mouth shut until the season is over, or the very least, Arsenal cannot catch us. Im not in the mood for another mind the gap fiasco, and am just enjoying one of our best seasons in recent history

Not into all this crowing, it's amusing but some people don't learn. Plus don't they need to win three European trophies to overtake us anyway.. As Fairs Cup doesn't count of course.. The way football is set up now I can't see them doing it unless they finally (and regularly) drop into Europa in some manner. The irony of the CL is there are loads of big clubs playing in the top comps every year and they never have anything to show for it whereas in a past life they'd be in their second cup winners cup campaign with a good chance of winning it..

Don't do it to yourselves. With their run in and ours I'll be quite surprised if we finish above them. Going out of the CL is usually their signal to start concentrating on the league and going on their traditional end of season winning run.

There's a long way yet. I suggest all Spurs fans just hold fire until the seasons or mathematically we've achieved our desired targets....winning the league, qualification to CL, finishing above scum.

F it. What have we got to lose? We've been through enough - now at least we can have a little laugh... Who has the last one isn't relevant at this stage; just enjoy it while it lasts!

It's St Woolwich day and only applies when they can't catch is in the league or match our trophies that season.

It hasn't happened yet this season so let's keep quiet until it does.

But definitely St Woolwich Day. I christened it over on another fan site some years ago.

This Myth had already been debunked. They did it in 12/13... that is about it in the last 7 years, in fact the only other time they improved after they were knocked out of the CL (other than 12/13) a was by a 1 point improvement over 11 games See stats below.

I used to believe this (even earlier this season) but it is a myth based on the 12/13 season.

14/15 Season
9 games before their last CL game - Won 8, Lost 1, Drew 0 (24 Points)
9 games after their last CL game - Won 5, Lost 1, Drew 3 (18 Points)

13/14 Season
10 games before their last CL game - Won 6, Lost 2, Drew 2 (20 Points)
10 games after their last CL game - Won 6, Lost 2, Drew 2 (20 Points)

12/13 Season
10 games before their last CL game - Won 5, Lost 3, Drew 2 (17 Points)
10 games after their last CL game - Won 8, Lost 0, Drew 2 (26 Points)

11/12 Season
11 games before their last CL game - Won 6, Lost 3, Drew 2 (20 Points)
11 games after their last CL game - Won 6, Lost 2, Drew 3 (21 Points)

10/11 Season
9 games before their last CL game - Won 5, Lost 0, Drew 4 (19 Points)
9 games after their last CL game - Won 2, Lost 3, Drew 4 (10 Points)

09/10 Season
5 games before their last CL game - Won 4, Lost 0, Drew 1 (13 Points)
5 games after their last CL game - Won 1, Lost 3, Drew 1 (4 Points)

08/09 Season
3 games before their last CL game - Won 2, Lost 0, Drew 1 (7 Points)
3 games after their last CL game - Won 1, Lost 1, Drew 1 (4 Points)

Let's look at it another way, if we take the games since their CL knock out each season (as that is the data I have) and average the points they get over the course of the season, other than the 12/13 season, there isn't much difference.

14/15 - Projected points based on last few games - 76. Actual points - 75.
13/14 - Projected points - 76. Actual points - 79.
11/12 - Projected points - 73. Actual points - 70.
10/11 - Projected points - 42. Actual points - 68.
09/10 - Projected points - 30. Actual points - 75
08/09 - Projected points - 51. Actual points - 72

What's St Wengerin day? I thought it was more like St Whinger's day

Regardless, I agree with most of the other posters, let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

But it is not getting ahead of ourselves. It has nothing to do with league position. We have won three UEFA recognised European trophies, they have won one UEFA recognised trophy. They can do nothing about that now this season...can they! That is all this is. If they won a European trophy every season for the next three seasons, they would overtake our total (assuming we don't win any in the meantime). And in that case it would be somewhat relevant to be contrite. But as of Wednesday night, once again they can do absolutely nothing, zilch, zero, nada, about the fact that we are considerably more successful than they are in terms of winning UEFA recognised European trophies. There's nothing ahead about that...it just is :)

Honestly, I really don't understand the attitude of my fellow Yids on this. It has nothing to do with where we finish in the league - it is about their feeble UEFA recognised European trophy haul. And that is something we can throw in their faces...because frankly for a fan-base who likes to brow-beat ours they deserve it. It is a common opinion that in order to be considered a really big club European success is a requisite - so throw it in their faces. I mean, FFS, you act as though you'd best not say anything because they will take the piss outta you if you do and then we don't finish above them or whatever. I have news for you: they have been taking the piss outta us non-stop for the last 20 years. That is what the whole St Totteringham's Day is...isn't it? It's not like they are waiting for us to foolishly ridicule them to come back with it, they spout this always in our shadow shit at us constantly anyway. I always, but always throw back their feeble Euro record at them whenever I get that shit...what do you lot do? Sit quaking in the corner whispering oh please don't wag me? Un-fecking-believable :)

I mean, what do folk think will happen if they do finish above us (not that that has anything to do with laughing at their Euro record)? Do you imagine there is some mystical head-Goon out there who will rein them all in and say Now, chaps, let's not rip the piss out of the Yids for throwing away an advantage (again) and finishing below us for the 20-whatever-the-feck-it-is years...after all, they didn't wag us about STILL having a feeble Euro trophy haul. Will they shite. They will rip the piss outta us, anyway, and you all bluddy know they will. So what exactly is it you all fear? What is it you think you have to lose by if you give them some for that feeble Euro trophy hail? Y'know, because some folk believe that the mark of a real big club etc., etc... :)

Once again they have totally failed to match our Euro trophy haul...a pathetic thing for a club who spend all their time ridiculing us. Give it back to em, eh?

Vote St Wengerin (y)(y)(y)

This myth, too, has been debunked.

Their away form is poor. In their four remaining away games they have to travel to Goodison, The Boleyn Ground or Upton Park or whatever they are calling the cesspit now, the Stadium of Light and the Etihad. Is there any one of those games where you would expect the Goons, a Goons side whose performances away have been poor since the end of October, will get a walk over? Everton are capable of battering any defence and the Goons defence looks brittle (and this ain't a Barca side effectively cantering through a second leg they knew they'd already won). West Ham are chasing a Euro spot (ye heavens!) and will be right up for it, and we saw the effect of that just a few weeks ago, didn't we!). Sunderland are fighting against relegation under arch relegation fighter Big Hippo-Head Sam, a manager who likes nothing better than putting one over the whinger and has shown that he knows how to do it. And finishing with a trip to the Etihad, where Citeh may well be fighting either to overtake the Goons or to keep their CL place.

They have to win their game in hand, and then either take three more points than us while overhauling our goal-difference superiority, or take four more points than us. With that away schedule.
