There seem to be a lot of people who dislike this chant now. I personally have no problem with it at all, as it's been a chant I've grown up with at Tottenham, and I don't see the problem with chanting it when Arsenal aren't playing because we it's well known that we hate Arsenal more than any other team and sometimes it even gets the away fans to join in!

What are your views on this particular chant?

Can be overused. Needs to be mixed in with ‘Stand up if you love Tottenham’ but I have no real problem with it.

I start to think it serves a crowd standing purpose (against the stewards) than it does otherwise. I will always stand up and sing it - I don't care - I hate Arsenal and if asked to stand to confirm this, I will.

True, it's a terrible terrible inferiority complex that we must sing of hatred for our rivals than love for ourselves, but sobeit - that is where we find ourselves today.

How many Liverpool sing "are you Everton in disguise?" same for Newcastle/Middlesbrough/Sunderland etc. We hate our rivals - and as much as people turn their noses up at it, it gets us standing up and singing.

to be honest the chant does annoy me because I hate talkingabout Arsenal! I like it the week before the derby and during the game but at random matches i dont really have much time for it......it is obvious that i hate arsenal i pay through the nose every year to watch spurs!

but i have no probs with others singing it just dont want to be judged for not joining in...:hello:

Don't like it and refuse to go along with it, as I haven't been to an Arsenal game since the chant started, which is the only time I see its purpose

I would prefer to hear more 'Stand up if you love Tottenham', but I don't get to many games at all so my opinion on this isn't really valid.

Concentrating on OUR team, not those lot up the road.

The only time i find it relevant is either when we play the scum, or after the stewards get everyone to sit down during a match and it makes you want to stand up again.

All other times it's pointless really. You love Tottenham = you hate Arsenal. It comes with the territory.

Having said that, they do have a great team with some great players it's more to do with the principle of disliking Arsenal through history which gives rise to the hate.

Not really relevant chant at the moment though. We should be singing for Tottenham!

Bang on stoof! Even though I hate you and your facist rule I have to agree with you here.

When everyone was singing stand up for martin jol against getafe it was to annoy the stewards, no other reason.

I feel there is a certain amount of focus that needs to stay on the team we support, I have been shying away from the arsenal stuff lately. Time and a place and all that.

Crap chant - used by rubbish clubs to try to generate an atmosphere.

We don't need it - so why bother (unless to annoy the stewards)

really annoying, i remember watching us trash wolves a few years back and all the crowd were chanting was that as the 4th and 5 the goals went in.. I mean what is the point, we weren't playing them and it was a great game we were watching.. I ended up refusing to stand up

I Dont go to many games, upto 4 or 5 a season. not easy when i now live in somerset. but when im in the crowd and people start singing it i cant always be arsed to stand up but feel that i have too. So it doesnt look like i actually dont hate them, which of course every spurs fan does.

Would rather join in with the pro tottenham songs, than talk about them. but over the next few months we just need to get behind all the players more than usual to see us back to winning ways and make the lane the fortress it has been over the last couple of seasons.

I find it quite disappointing that our fans would rather insult another team than support our own. It's the same with the Movie Poster thread; a couple of Wenger 'kiddy fiddler' jokes were funny but a whole load of them... The ones about our players are the best. Let's get behind our team, they bloody well need it!

Stoof I don't think it's an infreriority complex as they sing the reverse at Arsenal, that said I can't be arsed with it myself and it is used to get people back up after the stewards have got them sat sitting which of course the stewards know and is probably why they are taking action.

I prefer Stand up if you love the Spurs, it rolls off the toungue much better.

Sad thing really is that I used to go to Spurs -Arsenal matches with mates who support the arsenal, that was before all ticket games of course but it seems sad that that's a thing of the past.
Mind you at other times I did also use to stand in the North Bank uninvited and once or twice evicted the arsenal fans but now I'm just going misty eyed and rambling... now where did I put my incontinence pads....

More importantly, does Bale have a song? I've not heard one and want to get in the know?
