Still more UEFA Cup chat

Its that time again, another Thursday, another day without classes (loving it) and another leg (2nd) of the UEFA Cup.

Zenit is up 1-0 (2-1), very nice free kick from about 25-30m (?) out through the wall--Ribery ducked out and it blew past Kahn. Pogrebniak scored the goal, it was quite a strike but it should have hit the wall...

Would be a great story if Zenit could pull it off--Bayern are on the attack, though, and looking dangerous...

Not sure what to make of Gers/Fiorentina; I thought that Fiorentina would get an away goal against Gers, but they held pretty well. It was not pretty to watch, but perhaps today they will go after it a little bit more. Apparently Walter Smiths strategy is to bore Fiorentina to sleep and then tell them that they lost when they wake up...But seriously, can Gers get a goal at Fiorentina? They never looked like scoring in the first leg...

Sorry, I have nothing against Gers--I just think they play boring football (except when they play Celtic).

Zenit are holding the ball well, despite Bayern's constant attacks. Bayern's possession always goes nowhere; no actually, as 57 said in one of the earlier UEFA threads, first it goes to Ribery and then it goes nowhere...

Zenit score again, 2-0 (3-1)! Beautiful build up and great finishing from Zurianov--such skill to creat the space and a finesse finish. Zenit are playing Bayern off the park right now.

Agreed. Tymoschuk is going forward and causing all sorts of problems for Bayern's back 4, and tackling well.

Yeah, they have been the most exciting team to watch (after we crashed out) in the UEFA this year. Dominated Bayern today. Ran them off the pitch. Pogrebniak and Arshavin--both awesome.

fucking hell that ref was ridiculous, every decision went on Bayern's favour. He also unfairly booked Pogrebnyak and now he'll miss the final (10 goals in 13 matches in the UEFA cup).

Fantastic team performance by Zenit. And their GK was excellent too
