If we get a really pacey CF or Njie can force his way into the team, i think we'll score a ton more counter attacking goals. The way Alli, Eriksen execute those one touch passes is amazing.

Jesus imagine when we actually are better at finishing chances and also with someone like Njie in this team.

My brain is hurting

Tottenham Barcelona FC great performance with the exception of some awful finishing, 4-0 was very kind to Stoke

Sometimes still find it hard to believe this is Spurs. All those years of hope and false dawns and finally we have a TEAM! The never say die attitude, playing without fear, amazing defense, exciting attack. Other than a few years scattered in there of exciting attacks it's not what my years of following Spurs have delivered. Hearing Kane saying he couldn't wait the day and half to get out there and play after the Leicester draw. Alli showing a maturity well beyond his years. Levy has to do everything to keep Poch at the club, if he stays the players will stay and more will come. I think they'd all run through walls for him. Regardless if we win the league or not this has been an incredible season and it's just the beginning for this team. We will only get better. A very very happy Spurs fan here. COYS!
I know it's bonkers. We either have a season where we do well defensively, or a season where we score goals. Never does everything come together in one beautiful package.

Watching our beloved Spurs now is unbelievable. Solidarity through the team is amazing. Combination of individual brilliance and collective spirit I think is one of the great achievement of Pochettino philosophy.

We are playing as well if not better than any Yanited side Fergie has assembled at this moment in time. I can think of no higher compliment to pay these young guns.

IMHO we are seeing history in the making. Without wishing to sound overtly carried away I believe, with a few additions that I'm sure Mauricio already has his eye on, this team is becoming our version of Ajax or Milan in their hey day. Mauricio and his merry men have worked wonders on the whole club and even our bean counter now comes across as being likable.
The teamwork, ethic, maturity, passion, technique, are all coming together at a time when, quite frankly, most teams look after knackered 60 minutes and just can't keep up with our relentless drive. Absolutely amazing. Well done Tottenham, keep this up and we'll be the pride of England, both the players and as a club.

Despite the scorers Eriksen is my Motm

I was skim reading through this thread and thought you said Eriksen was your Mom. I'd never imagined the thought of him giving birth to a baby boy before, but I have now so thanks for that mental image.

Imagine he named him Erik.

"Erik, son! Come down for dinner, tell the other Erik, Eric and Son to come too."

I have supported Spurs 53 years and that was one of the most pleasurable footy evenings of my life (and I've been around for good times). It was the build up and I was too nervous to eat beforehand or do anything other than drink a bottle of wine and smoke fags (and I don't smoke). And then the players came on and put my nerves to shame. The beautiful early goal from Kane. The total control in defence and midfield. We made a decent Stoke team look ordinary. Could have been 7 or 8. But that doesn't matter. By 2-0 and 3-0 the result was inevitable and so I was able to enjoy the match without biting my fingers off which I thought would be the minimum sacrifice I'd have to make. These boys are something special and the manager and coaches are awesome. Our away fans made me tearful too.

I do believe we have a chance of the title but, for me, it's about way more than that. We are privileged to be watching a masterpiece in the making. I don't want to make silly claims about winning this or that because then the narrative would be how we're still 'Spursy' if we fail by 1 point. I hate the Spursy shit but, if it ever was true, this lot are about as 'un-Spursy' as it's possible for any team to be, especially the youngest team in the PL managed by a young manager, with ALL the best stats bar points gained so far.

Stoke's defence was a bodge-job and we were always likely to score. But stoke's front 6 are top players and our back 6 snuffed them out with almost no moments of tension, even their corners posed on threat. Lloris could have joined me for a glass of wine so little was he called on. As Carra said, you can't name Spurs mans off the match nowadays, basically this team defines 'team' where the individual parts are good but the sum of the parts is at a whole different level

Serious, drunkenly proud
Great post, mate! We're probably a similar age. I'm guessing you were a smoker, and you're re-smoking. Stop it! And I say that as someone who still smokes!

Seen so many versions of Spurs over the years...great, good, average and crap! You and Carragher are right about the "team" element. It's f...ing huge, and the team concept is vaunted and cliched, and only really makes sense when it becomes real! And, we are a team!!! No surprise that Chels, Utd, City and Arse have underperformed as they lack cohesion.

Leicester actually demonstrate how far the the team concept can take you with their limited resources, together with their special milk! But, we have something that is the absolute envy of every club right now; the "team" working as a unit with talented players playing football the "Spurs" way. Didn't want to say it, but it's true for anyone who remembers our great days/nights. And I'm so glad our revival has happened with us playing great football!

Starts with the coach, and Poch has been an absolute gift! He has the natural ability to connect with players, the passion, vision, experience and knowledge, as a player and coach, of how he wants the game to be played, and the commitment and effort to see it through!

Loved how he went full Basil Fawlty today, in a crouch, with his head in his hands, then pounding the ground with his fists! Pressure's naturally getting to him; he's young too and never been in this position before as a coach. But, he's done all the hard work, so his players are all working together, remaining composed on the pitch, and playing wonderful football...just soooo good to watch!

Whatever happens, happens! But, tick tock Leicester....you'll have to really, really earn this one! Don't think you will!

Two great posts from wise men. I relate to both because I am old too :)
Funny enough I don't smoke whole week but after every game of such beauty I open a bottle of wine and smoke :)
