It's baffling it really is, but when the manager and the club stand by a racist comment it's perhaps not surprising. Dalglish has been trying to unite the fans in this ridiculous stance to try and distract them from the fact that he's doing a very poor job, and it's worked. Instead of looking at their terrible performances, the fans are instead defending Suarez and yet again enjoying the victim mentality that they so love.

Mickey mouse behaviour from them recently and it'll be hard to forget.

Is it just me or does he look like John Terry?

He was right when he said "Downing was wank" though.

I dont think weve heard the last of all this...

I hope not. If Liverpool lose a few sponsors out of this, it will weaken them. The sponsorship deals from Standard Chartered and Warrior are far better than ours and means that even without CL they make more money than us (with CL).

The sponsors should have pulled out when Suarez abused Evra and Dalgish and the owners backed him and made him out to be the victim.

With the club statements today hopefully a line has been drawn under this now and everyone can move on

No chance, the damage has already been done, Liverpool fans will continue to be in self denial and act like tossers.

I heard John Aldridge on one of the phone-ins today saying there was a lot of stuff that didn't come out in the enquiry, when quizzed as to what he wouldn't say but said that when Liverpool football club felt right they'd let us know, when he was asked well it was a 115 page report he said he couldn't say but knew more than was "let out",.
That I'm afraid is the real attitude of most pool supporters.
It's something the club has forced an apology but I can't believe KKKenny didn't know until he was told by the Sky reporter that Saurez hadn't shook hands.

Unbelievable isn't it.

This reply had me in stitches;

"Have to be honest and say I'm devastated.
Remember Rafa. He fought for this club.
The players fought for the club.

Right now we seem to be stumbling from one blunder to another.

I can't begin to describe my emotions.
I've been knocking back ignorant Manc arguments all day and this has flattened me.

I'm at a point right now I could just leave football and be done with it.

Meanwhile Terry has cost a good manager his job and nobody gives a sh*t because they'd rather shine the spotlight in us.

Lowest I've felt in awhile.
Hope the rest of you stay strong in this tough time.
Good luck.

Much love to you."

Trumped by this response to it:

Hang in there we will get through this together.
Incredible.

I was listening to that on the 5 live podcast this morning. Aldridge's view was unbelievable and he completely ignored anything reasonable that was said to him.

His view, and seemingly still the view of most Liverpool fans/employees is that 'it's okay to say it in his own country' even though a 100 page plus report, which was compiled with the help of two independent language/cultural experts, says otherwise.

The most jarring response though was from John Barnes who still seems more intent on defending Liverpool than agreeing that what Suarez said/did was wrong. Yes he's right to say that the racism issue doesn't begin and end at Liverpool but in the past few months they've had:

1. A player banend for racist abuse;
2. A fan arrested for racially abusing an Oldham player; and
3. A fan arrested for making a monkey gesture at Evra.

Do Liverpool honestly think that these things aren't connected? When the club doesn't back down over a comment that 99% of the people in football accept was racist, how do they expect their fans to react?

It's been a terrible example set from top to bottom at that club and even though they've now apologised they still have this feeling that they've been wronged.

It really is unbelievable.

I can't believe Kenny apologised, you know the shit's hit the fan for that to happen.

Was actually funny on MoTD2 as it showed Rio's face change as he realised that Suarez blanked Evra, the frown appearing and his hand going down.

Merked him proper. Fair play Rio.

Yep. The thing is, the Liverpool board most likely pressured Suarez and Kenny into making those apologies because they further realised the severity of the image that was now being brought upon the club. Even if they 100% didn't mean what they said in those statements they were always going to be made.

The truth is, this is what should have been done when Suarez was found guilty or even before. Dalglish and Liverpool were so stupid throughout all of this that they deserve everything they get coming to them and although I hope it gets put to one side, I hope it's never forgotten.

I actually think theres a positive for all this occuring though and that's that even without this incident, racism is obviously still a problem in football and all this may help to make a bigger push to stamp it out.

Have we had this yet?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NFLMTwkGXM

I won't embed it, because he uses naughty words, but it's the funniest thing I've see all day.

"I punched the wall. Yeah, I punched the wall. Don't know if you can see, my right hand's pretty red" Eek

That video is epic. There are so many gems in there.

'I was going mental, God knows what the neighbours thought. I don't actually have any neighbours but if I did they'd be kicking off'

When he lifted his mask too high and covered his eyes

'If I saw Evra in the street, I wouldn't hit him...'

Just brilliant. What a genuine wanker.
