IMO one of the most overrated players in the newcastle team and thats a team full of overrated players

Agreed. One of my closest friends is a Toon fan who claims Sissoko is one of the major reasons they went down. Says he turns up when he wants and spends most games sulking about the pitch. He really can't understand why he's in the French side.

Huge wage cut needed, plus where would he play? Not to mention 25 mill plus

Depends how much Mourinho wants him out. Not many can afford his wages so they might have to subsidise like City did with Adebayor. Eriksen has looked at times like he needs someone breathing down his neck and Mata is the kind of player who can unpick locked defences. I only mention him because he is now quite obviously surplus to requirements at Utd..

Dortmund point out Mkhitaryan is joining team who finished 5th in PL, and wish him luck in Europa League.

Good

We must wait for everyone to finish their business first

That's what they tell me every window

Palace really seem to be going for it this window, Tomkins, Townsend, Mandana and now alleged bid in for benteke -could be challenging for Europa league spots if it pays off.

Kind of puts that myth to bed doesn't it. It's about profile wages and expectation.
That's been obvious for ages.

Else sides like Ajax and Celtic wouldn't bleed players constantly to mid table sides who aren't even in Europe.

If Stones goes for £50m then Levy wouldn't be out of his mind to ask for £150m if someone comes calling for Harry...

If Stones is 50 then Dier must be 150 and who knows what Kane is worth.

Stones has had a horrendous season. He's got some potential but makes some awful decisions as a defender and needs coaching. Guardiola isn't the coach for him, Mourinho is (as much as I hate to say that). He's not worth anything like £50m, that's just the over-exaggeration of English prices.

Stones is massively overrated.

He's rated too highly because he's the only English CB with good passing. It's not based on the talent it's based on the fact he's in a pool of one.

Usually saves those games for when he plays us the diving cheating twat.

On whoscored.com, Zlatan was the highest rated player in the French league last season, Mkhitaryan the highest in the Bundesliga, and Pogba the highest rated in Serie A, and United might sign all 3 of them, if the speculation about Pogba is true. Interestingly, they all have the same agent as well.

I definitely think Man Utd are doing good business so far this summer.

With Mikhytarian (can't spell it) joining Utd I wouldn't mind Mata at Spurs. I know many will say he doesn't work hard enough defensively but we've really struggled to break down bus parkers. Just putting it out there.

Personally I would be all over Januzaj. Clearly going to end up leaving and could be excellent and will also be cheap.

Wasn't there some stuff about attitude problem or being lazy or something like that? (I could be totally wrong on this, I just seem to remember something along those lines)

It's business that we couldn't do tomorrow even with a lottery win/bank robbery, so not much point worrying about it.

Just got to work hard and keep knitting together, and hope their 'good business' turns out to be a bunch of uncohesive prima dona galacticos...

I think that's pretty harsh. Martinez is probably the worst coach for a young defender to develop under, his teams are so defensively poor collectively. He made the odd mistake but I remember Rio Ferdinand making similar mistakes as a young player.

I think Stones, with the right manager, and I don't agree Guardiola is a bad choice, he'll encourage Stones to play and his team will be set up to suit a CB that plays football (i.e. he will invariably have options, unlike when he brings the ball out for Everton or England and everyone's running away from him). I think he will develop into a very classy CB. And I think in a world of diminishing quality CB's I can understand him having a decent price on his head, although 50m is of course crazy, but English transfer prices get crazier every year.

There is only so far coaching goes, some of the mistakes stones was making was nothing to do with instructions given but rather issues with his mentality.

He got a lot of praise in one match for doing a Cruyff turn and the next thing we saw was him doing it every week when it clearly wasnt working anymore. Then he kept on playing himself in to trouble for the rest of the season. Instead of going simple he does unnecessarily go too complicated and then try to do too much. Hence why he did get dropped.
