It would be galling for Liverpool to get a player of his quality without any form of CL etc. Advantage of Klopp I guess, but if there was at all any chance that he would consider us I'd be going all in and asking the question. Players of his quality are not available all that often.

They have finished in the top 4 for the last 15-20 years. They might not have achieved everything their fans would have wished for but they aren't exactly mental basket cases either.

It's been rumoured the last few weeks.. Liverpool Echo were reporting it.. there getting a good deal at that price.. decent keeper better than Mignolet.. they would of been better going for Zieler or Horn imo but I suppose the fact he has lived in the North-East before they know he can settle quickly.

Echo also linking them to Zielinski of Udinese who was on loan at Empoli .. don't know why as far as I can see he's very ordinary & just an athlete.. there also reporting there going to pay Gotze 180 grand a wk.. only in football could you sit on your h*le for a year & get a 70 grand pay rise

However, German newspaper Bild report that Gotze will stay and fight for his place in Germany.

The 23-year-old said: “I look forward to the new season in Munich and will do everything possible to be in top shape for my first training session under Carlo Ancelotti.”

Bild were the outlet who reported that Ancelotti had contacted Gotze to inform him he was surplus to requirements next season.

Klopp yeah yeah.. but this is the 8th place team with no European football in a mega tough league where CL will be a massive ask next season as well. Maybe wishful thinking on my part but I don't buy it..

Not surprised they are chucking that much at Gotze. Boy is a top level player, for an 8th place club to luck in to him via their manager it's understandable they'd do what it takes to get the deal done

Was reading someone saying that Ajax would be over the moon getting 5m for Fischer. Apparently injuries (attitude as well?) have limited his development.

Got to say, having watched Ajax quite a lot in the last few years, I'm not surprised that he's not progressed. Decent technique, but always a bit lightweight, for me.
