Antonio will want our transfers, into the club early I would think. A full pre season, with the complete squad is vital.

I wonder if we are starting to see the different set of targets with and without CL.

With CL:

Players like Gvardiol, Bremer, Dumfries

Without CL:

Players like Maehle, Hicapie, Spence

Really don't think we can distinguish as much at the moment really but I don't think we'll want any sort of greatly noticeable drop in quality without CL. For instance I'd still very much expect us to look for better than Spence as our RWB option even if we don't.

I very much doubt we will get them all early. Just too many moving parts considering how many ins and outs there will be.
Agree with this, it’s a logical assumption (albeit Trix I’m sure more than assumption for you). The only caveat I’d place on it is that I’d hope to see some movement early. I can envisage a world in which 25th July comes around and we’ve got one signing but lots of rumours. That, for me, would not be good enough. I’m ok with the odd one here or there coming in later, but for Conte’s demands it does seem that pre season is rather critical.
With all that said, Conte and Paratici know what they’re doing so let’s sit back and relax!

Watching Milan game tonight. Leao is gonna be amongst the elite very soon. Would love us to get him but that train has gone

I know you said 'all' but Conte won't wait till the end of the window imo. He will want at least 3 or 4 in for pre-season, no ifs or buts. Of course if there's rumoured to be 7-8 positions then they won't all be done early and a few of them will likely be on deadline day sure, but we need to make sure those are more the icing on the cake.

He won't take to being messed around like previous coaches here where we've acted too late in key positions and dropped crucial points in the opening fixtures.

He will absolutely want to start drilling his core 13-15 players as early as possible.

In terms of priorities, I’d assume wing backs would be at the top of that list. That be the key to truly unlocking how Conte wants this team to play.

Hincapie looks really good - think we discussed him previously. First time I watched him he reminded me of Marcos Alonso a bit in how he carries the ball and could get forward. Could be a really fun LCB for us.

He is an Elite wingback if he find his form again. People saying he won’t start here or only want him as backup are mad. He has all the tool. Lightning quick, can play both positions, can beat a man, dribbling plus shooting is very good for a WB and his mentality is elite - only 24 too. Conte and Paratici will love him. So will Spurs fans when he plays a couple of games(if). Don’t let if fool you that he can’t play for Atalanta, even our national coach hasn’t got a clue why. He needs a move.
Prior to this season, whenever I watched him I thought he was fantastic. Could just be that he needs a change of scenery.

Yeah, thats being unrealistic.

However. I do think an early signing that shows intent will help to calm everyone down and show Conte we are serious.

Obviously, I have no ideas of what has gone on between Conte and Levy/FP but I do think he'll get a bit restless if we reach midJuly and nothing has been done.

Whereas, an early quality CB or attacker should alleviate some concerns or doubts.

You can add Hincapie at Leverkusen to the list of those we've had contact with/about.
If we’re looking for a left footed Romero, this is about as close as we can get in terms of style. Uber-aggressive, fearless in duels, calm on the ball. Competent carriers. I think he’s better on the ball than Romero in terms of consistent long passing. Think he’s also a slightly better athlete and a bit faster over long distances. But very inexperienced in comparison to Romero and not nearly as refined in his defensive work. His base positioning, anticipation, and instincts aren’t nearly as good. Not great in the air either and with Romero also not being the best aerially it isn’t ideal. Romero had the Copa and CL experience but also his standout performances in both. Consistently fantastic in Serie A. Hincapie has had ups and down in Europa and in the Bundesliga. Some concentration issues and sloppy defensive actions (enough to be noticeable). It’s only his first season in Europe so to be expected, and there’s a reason he’s highly rated. He is a great athlete and he is very refined on the ball. His fit stylistically is perfect. Just unsure if his level is high enough consistently. Certainly a very high ceiling, and he’s shown some top top level performances. Just want some more consistency, and tbh that only comes with more experience. I’m confident he’ll reach a very high level with the correct development, and a move to a club like ours is the ideal next step. Maybe a year too soon though.

That is a good omen. We have an amazing return on investment whenever we buy players for Leverkusen ( Berba & Sonny). Let's keep the streak going.

Have there been any links to Gosens? Think he'd be a phenomenal pickup, was the best attacking LWB in the world a season and a half ago at Atalanta, injury setback and transfer have him under the radar now. Not getting much gametime at Inter, he'd definitely be gettable.

He’s currently on a 2 year loan deal I believe, so the fee will be paid by Inter to Atalanta in Jan 2024…

Not sure how that works in terms of a loan cancellation, but he is absolutely a brilliant option. I believe Conte made previous attempts to sign him too? Fits the profile entirely and can score and create goals!

I think for the money, Kostic is the next best thing in terms of experience and output, an absolute wand of a left foot and would help on set pieces big time!

Laimer to Bayern would be a shame. Bayern certainly acquire some decent talents for more than reasonable money compared to a few of the other leagues in Europe.

I know it's reported he's out of contract next summer, but Bayern certainly seem to benefit from their grandeur and the fact that they pretty much win the Bundesliga season on season .

Totally get why some players want to play for the elite clubs, but Bayern certainly do well when considering that pretty much means them, and them only, if one wishes to stay in the Bundesliga.

Onions.
They certainly do!:)
