Kagawa is an interesting one. Dortmund have been looking really positive lately and have signed some real talent, seems odd that one is looking to get out.

Linked heavily with Manure from what i've read this morning though.
If he went to United, that means they wouldn't come after Modric. This is positive for us I feel.

Shinji Kagawa available for just £5m according to the papers today..yes please.. think of the merchandising Danny!

He may not be french/african but he's not overprice!

from what i read on dortmund forum they reckon he possess the most quality in their forward lineup

Can I question the love for Fletcher?

He hasn't played regularly in a very poor Wilves team, and seems to be the "old fashioned centre forward" that only certain parts of the English/British game like. Limited ability, Britidh so likely to cost a premium, and in my opinion, overrated.

Unless he has a clause in his contract that price has to be a joke.

He is a attacking midfielder, by no means a Scholes replacement.

Those on the shopping list should be.

Samir Handovich Udinese ... £10m ish
Dries Mertens PSV £15m ish ( if we lose Modric)
Luuk de Jong Twente £8m ish
Stephen Fletcher Wolves
Hoillet Blackburn ..all though lots of offers for him to consider.
Marc Albrighton Villa lots of potential and cover /competition for lennon.

out will hopefully be the dead wood that is Bentley/Dos Santos/Bassong/kranky/Carlo/Piennar/a number of the kids that just get loaned out month after month. Add Ady and Defoe to that list and add a big name /performing striker.
The new man in the hot seat has alot to do this summer !

I really agree with you over Defoe. There's some that say small strikers like him have become redundant in the modern game. He can't play up top on his own, can't play the support striker/number 10 role and can't play in a 3 out wide, or at least he's never been tried there.

I reckon he could play on the left in a Three man forward but we never seem to deviate from 442. Though saying that i think it's time for Defoe to move on he'd be good at Aston Villa if they stay up we should swap him for Agbonlahor. Yes a less of a goal threat but a more adaptable player IMO.

Obviously I'm only suggesting this because he's also a Yank, but I think Clint Dempsey would be a great player to add to the squad. He is very versatile, and can play as a center-mid, as a withdrawn forward, or on the (right) wing. At his best, he'll be a more direct alternative to VDV, which I think suits us in certain games. He also has a relatively clean injury history, and only has a year left on his contract, so Fulham may be forced to sell.

I'm also a fan of his teammate Brayan Ruiz, who we were apparently after last season. I admittedly haven't seen too much of him, but he seems to have a Berbatov-esque touch on the ball.

I am a non-Yank. Damn you and your freedoms! *shakes fist* Totally agree with you about The Clint.

Haven't seen much of Ruiz. He seems only capable of scoring goals via the chip though. Pretty damn Spurs that.

Hoilet would be a good signing, so that's one and I think that's pretty likely.

We will also Definately sign a defender. Haven't been linked to anyone other than Vertonghen so I'm going to plump or him.

We will need 3 forwards in the summer. I would love Adebayor to stay but I don't think it's going to happen. Not sure who we have the best chance of signing really as think alot of the signings are pipe dreams. Think you could put your mortgage on us getting another loan signing. Think we will be interested Dzeko and I think he will be our "big" target. Next one will be a cheap continental player, £15m ish but I have no idea who as my knowledge of players on the continent isn't that great but maybe someone like Huntelaar. The final forward will be a usual Harry signing on deadline day.I'm going with Yakubu.

Don't think we will sign a midfielder unless modric goes.

So to recap. Hoilett, Vertonghen, Dzeko(loan), Huntelaar and Yakubu.

Dempsey would be a great signing

He reminds me of Piennar - does very well in a club he's been at for a long time and although is nothing special has found his comfort zone in how he plays at that club. Move him to another club and i think he'll struggle to adapt and shine.

Scum heavily linked with verthongen (sp) this morning as they want to get their business done early. Looks like we might have missed out on him

When we are heavily linked with him next week do you think they will assume that they have missed out on him? It's all paper talk. Besides I am not sure he is right for us, both he and Kaboul will look to break out of defence and we'd probably be better with a pure stopper next to Kaboul which is definitely not Verthongen. Verthongen isn't a particularly great defender but is decent on the ball and will pass it well out of defence. Whilst I don't think he is perfect for us, he probably is exactly what Arsenal need and they can play him next to Vermaelen who is a far better defender than Verthongen.
