I'm still hopeful Walker will stay, likewise Lamela. To be honest, Wimmer to stay too if he can get up to speed on being LCB in a three, and give Nkoudou another season with a full summer. This squad has come on as a whole, and I'd rather not make too many adjustments year on year, just fine tune what we have.

Add either a RCB/CB to allow Dier to go DM and also cover Alderweireld, or else buy a DM to compete with Wanyama. Funded by the sales of Bentaleb and Fazio.

Also buy another forward, someone who can add some dynamism from wide areas, but also be an alternative CF. If either Kane or Janssen are out, we have no natural CF, albeit Son has done a job. Funded by the sales of Sissoko and Njie.

There should be enough left after sales, to perhaps reallocate funds to higher wages to those who deserve it. Maybe even stretch to a prospect like Sessegnon too.

Beyond that, look to the academy/development squads, Carter-Vickers, Walker-Peters and Onomah already mentioned by Pochettino.
Walker, Wimmer, Lamela, Sissoko all out this summer could see us bring in £100m which we could do a lot with if we're clever.

I'd be happy if Kyle stays, but top
Dollar will soften the blow.

I love Lamela, but he's missed two entire seasons out of the four he's been here. Just seems a bit brittle.
If we can sell him to Italy and bring in Barkley it's a solid swap. Barkley is good at threading those little balls through around the box, maybe not as good as Erik, but he can also shoot well off both feet too. If Poch can get him working as hard as Lamela we'll have a player.

Wimmer has to go as Poch doesn't trust him and Sissoko speaks for himself.

I'd take that if Walker really must go.

Barkley most likely in, followed by a winger and a right back you'd think. If Wimmer goes though we need another centre back in.

Seem to be a lot of people knocking Poch's transfer record which is fair enough, given a fair few misses.

But Dier, Alli, Alderweireld and Wanyama for £30M gets him a fuck load of leeway in my book.

Interesting Poch comments. Clear that anyone who goes, he is happy to let go.
Yeah, I'm not sure... He's just started parroting that phrase in the last week or two. Sounds like they are preparing us for Walker leaving, and try to spin it as if it's Poch's decision, when in reality it's the kind of mutual separation, where the bloke says, well, I would have dumped you anyway afterwards.

ok this info isn't really ITK, but might have some weight. last October I was in Ibiza and met someone I thought was related to Janssen, though only just found out he was related to Janssens girlfriend, who has now split with Vincent, though they do come from the same village in Holland.

I sent him an email this week to see how he was, and if he had heard of whats happening with him. his reply was

"About Vincent, I heard that he has contact with Fenerbache".

If Iheanacho is available for £20m then we should sign him up as soon as possible.
He'd want wages as big as Kane's though. Can't happen. As Poch says, doesn't matter we have the facilities and CL, most of these feckers only want top dollar.

Okay..

So Carragher said tonight what we lack is a Mane-type player who has blistering pace, can open up defenders and score goals. With Zaha potentially looking at signing a new deal, we need to move on to other targets.

Henry Onyerkuru at KAS Eupen has been insane this year and is now the top scorer in Belgium as of tonight with 22 goals, he also has a number of assists this season. Has recently got a call from Nigeria, who he may choose to represent (Potential AFCON issues there)

It sprung to my attention though that Onyerkuru has a £6.8m release clause in his contract....£6.8 FUCKING MILLION?!?!?!?

If he is not on our list of targets I would be heavily shocked...(And would love some ITK or reputable sources to confirm this), we always say we need to get these types of players before they get too big and thus their price becomes ridiculous. S'ton got Mane from Salzburg and people here said he wasn't good enough for us and now look at him?

He's being linked around the PL, but West Ham, S'ton and Everton are apparently the leading candidates...With CL football on offer and Wembley etc, we could definitely offer him stuff they can't...

Obligatory ScoutNation vid from earlier this season, looks pacy, physical, a little raw yes...but £6.8m is not a large risk and a no brainer IMO...

Looks promising but I'd rather keep Nkoudou if we're just going to go for another raw player.

I would be slightly less concerned about losing Kyle Walker if we happened to sign the best RB in the world, and arguably the player that changed the roles of the position. It's written by Duncan Castles, who I'm quite sceptical of, but he does write for the Sunday Times and is definitely a big name.

Tottenham approach Dani Alves as Mauricio Pochettino looks to beat Manchester City to defender deal

Tottenham Hotspur have initiated discussion with Dani Alves over a summer transfer to the Premier League.

The proposed move signals a significant departure from the Premier League club’s long standing policy of recruiting younger footballers on relatively inexpensive salaries, but would serve to rebalance a squad that has come up short in the pursuit of consecutive English titles.

In both seasons, Tottenham have impressed with the quality of their football in domestic competition, yet ended them trophyless after dropping League points unexpectedly or underperforming in cup ties. Their Europa and Champions League campaigns have proved particularly disappointing.

Although Tottenham’s squad contains some of the most highly valued players in the Premier League, it is notably short on individuals who have won major honours at club level. Only Toby Alderweireld has been part of a team that claimed one of Europe’s five leading League titles, and the Belgium defender’s contribution to Atletico Madrid’s 2014 Liga success was limited to 10 starts. Mauricio Pochettino has also yet to win a trophy as a manager.

Dani, in contrast, has been a central figure in a succession of title winning sides. Starting with the first of Sevilla’s back-to-back UEFA Cup triumphs in 2005, the Brazil international has accumulated six Liga titles, three Champions Leagues, three FIFA Club World Cups and five Copas del Rey. In his first season since leaving Barcelona for Juventus, the right back is on the verge of a Scudetto and is due to play Coppa Italia and Champions League finals.

The 34-year-old has a further season on his lucrative Juventus contract with an option for a third campaign, but holds a long standing desire to test himself in English football. Before joining Juve last summer, Dani gave an interview to The Guardian in which he stated that: “It’s special: there’s a corner and it’s like it’s a goal. I’ve always said that playing in England is something I’ve got pending. I don’t know when but I’d like to play there, to experience in person what I see from the sofa. The way the people live football. Wow, it’s incredible. Full stadiums, living every moment.”

Tottenham are understood to have proposed an initial two-year deal with an option for a third season. More detailed conversations are scheduled to take place after Juve meet Real Madrid in the Cardiff Champions League Final early next month.

The approach comes amidst uncertainty over the future of Kyle Walker, who has been relegated to Tottenham’s bench for several recent fixtures. The England international is under contract until 2021, but could improve his terms by moving to another Premier League suitor. In principle, Dani’s ability to operate at both full back and right wing would allow him to be combined with Walker, he is more likely to arrive as a replacement.

Manchester City are among other clubs exploring the possibility of signing Dani with the idea of utilising him as an experienced hand should they manage to secure the transfer of a younger defender like Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich. There are no questions over the Brazilian’s physical condition, he remains exceptionally quick and would require no adaptation to Pep Guardiola’s way of working.

According to sources close to the player, Dani would require assurances on playing time before leaving Juve. One of his key aims for the coming campaign is to represent his country at the 2018 World Cup Finals in Russia.
