Looks promising but I'd rather keep Nkoudou if we're just going to go for another raw player.

Agreed, I would wanna keep GKN too...

However, £6.8m...

We could buy him now and loan him back somewhere else, like Ajax perhaps (If we take a couple of theres or something). Looking at how much Bertrand Traore has come on there this year.

At such a low buyout clause for such a highly rated player - something you rarely see nowadays, we would be foolish not to take up on him

Okay..

So Carragher said tonight what we lack is a Mane-type player who has blistering pace, can open up defenders and score goals. With Zaha potentially looking at signing a new deal, we need to move on to other targets.

Henry Onyerkuru at KAS Eupen has been insane this year and is now the top scorer in Belgium as of tonight with 22 goals, he also has a number of assists this season. Has recently got a call from Nigeria, who he may choose to represent (Potential AFCON issues there)

It sprung to my attention though that Onyerkuru has a £6.8m release clause in his contract....£6.8 FUCKING MILLION?!?!?!?

If he is not on our list of targets I would be heavily shocked...(And would love some ITK or reputable sources to confirm this), we always say we need to get these types of players before they get too big and thus their price becomes ridiculous. S'ton got Mane from Salzburg and people here said he wasn't good enough for us and now look at him?

He's being linked around the PL, but West Ham, S'ton and Everton are apparently the leading candidates...With CL football on offer and Wembley etc, we could definitely offer him stuff they can't...

Obligatory ScoutNation vid from earlier this season, looks pacy, physical, a little raw yes...but £6.8m is not a large risk and a no brainer IMO...

He looks more like a mazy dribbler than an outright pace merchant who can burn people from a standing start like Mane and Bale. I'm sure we're all over Belgium anyway. Hitchen supposed to be an expert in this part of the world - France/Belgium/Holland.

Liverpool fear they could be beaten to the signings of Southampton centre-back Virgil van Dijk, 25, and Fulham left-back Ryan Sessegnon, 17, by Chelsea and Tottenham respectively.

Contract renewal time at Juve me thinks
I agree that it's highly unlikely not to happen, but I could reluctantly live with Daniel Alves replacing Walker. He just edges it.
Including some white text in here to show up any idiots who think this post has been typed with a straight face and rate with a corresponding D'oh or WTF rating. You chumps.

Love this, makes so much sense for RS to stay in London as well. Forming a relationship with the player is always important in these sorts of deals, hope we have done all the hard work beforehand. 12m is a great piece of business IMO as I feel like he is going to be a superstar, would love to wrap this up ASAP and hopefully get him adjusted to our system nice and early!

Going to be quite upset if West Ham manage to sign Iheanacho. Feel like he's the exact type of player we should be going after. In addition to that, Poch turning him into a productive player for us would be a nice way to prove his ongoing superiority to Guardiola in the EPL.

Agreed. In the same way that Chevy Chase's Fletch just edges Mrs Brown's Boys

I would consider the summer window a success with this signing alone. It just seems like an Ousmane Dembele-type scenario. If we don't get him now, I think we may come to regret it.

You know what my favourite trope is?

The "Tottenham need a pacey player like Mane to break down stubborn defenses who defend deep" trope.

Totally ignoring these factors: who does Mane play for? What does the team he plays for really suck against?

So a Mane type player will solve the problem that he himself doesn't fix on his own team. Okay then.

It's basic tactics really, teams who defend deep aren't susceptible to pace. That's WHY they defend deep - So that opponents can't get in behind. Pace would help us against teams that attack us, not those who defend.

Walker, Wimmer, Lamela, Sissoko all out this summer could see us bring in £100m which we could do a lot with if we're clever.

I'd be happy if Kyle stays, but top
Dollar will soften the blow.

I love Lamela, but he's missed two entire seasons out of the four he's been here. Just seems a bit brittle.
If we can sell him to Italy and bring in Barkley it's a solid swap. Barkley is good at threading those little balls through around the box, maybe not as good as Erik, but he can also shoot well off both feet too. If Poch can get him working as hard as Lamela we'll have a player.

Wimmer has to go as Poch doesn't trust him and Sissoko speaks for himself.

Then on that basis, I'd like, based on the Ajax ITK, Tete & Riedewald to replace Walker & Wimmer. Barkley to replace Lamela, and a pacy tricky forward to replace Sissoko. Bring in a young DM/CB and try for Sessegnon.
Assuming Bentaleb (17), Fazio (3-5?), Njie (7-10?), Walker (40-45?), Lamela (25-30?), Sissoko (15-20?) and Wimmer (10?) brings in a significant pot of cash to replace them.

My only concern there, is the volume of changes again, I'd prefer some stability.

Carragher didn't say that, he said we need a pacy player to help us away from home, to be able to stretch teams by hitting them on the break with pace. He is right.

No I'm just saying it's a common trope that gets bandied out frequently. Even though it's pretty obvious that whenever someone says it they obviously have put zero thought into it.

Think you are oversimplifying it. Blistering pace is a weapon we currently don't possess. It would help us if we did possess it.
