Had that great run which help re-ignite our season, but overall I don't think he has done enough in two years here. Sell if we get the right kind of money and put the money towards a genuine world class number 9.

To be honest, next season I really don't think he'll mind doing a similar job to what he's done in the second half of this season. Plus, there should be more games because of European involvement one way or another, so he should get plenty of games if he stays.

I guess the logical answer would be that we should let him go for the right price provided we get a superior replacement in.

I'd like to think that the Champions League worm might help us lure a prize forward for next season and if one of our current crop was to leave I doubt very much whether it would be Crouch or Defoe.

Before January, off, but right now, I would be tempted to keep all the players in the current squad (not including those out on loan). The one exception would be Jenas. I even wrote an article for SC about keeping Pav (and Bentley) for team spirit reasons, but it didnt get posted.

I think Pav still needs to improve another 5%, however he has shown a lot more technical ability this year, and even though his goalscoring touch has deserted him in recent weeks he is linking up play a lot, lot better. The assist for Bale against Chelsea, barging Terry off the ball then drawing the foul that led to his first yellow, a great through ball for JD in the same game that sent the little man clean through, even Bale's goal against Arse*** was due in part to Pav coming deep to show an option, drawing Denilson out and opening the space for the through ball.

He looks much happier in the team, and the rest of the players seem very happy to have him around.

In the 4th place ITK thread it talks about a 30 mill striker, I'm just not sure we would get value for money. We play two upfront often, so they wouldnt benefit from the 'Torres effect' of being the main striker and having the majority of the team's chances to score. JD will get a lot of games and goals, so are we paying for someone to play with him? Crouch offers the long ball option, Eidur the experience and cool head, there is room for a good, young prospect but I'd be inclined to keep Pav and try to work some more out of him.

I think Pav will be sold, this season half of the season Pav has done well in the Cups and scored some crucial goals.

His value should now be back to what we paid and knowing Levy we will make a profit!

We should re-invest this into another striker, one that Harry wants.

It's difficult, as I think as long as Pav is involved he'll be reasonably happy being a squad player. We have to be careful here, we've finished 4th which is great but we're not established there so we can't expect to automatically attract the best. Pav came on yesterday and did quite well in a short space of time. I think he'd be very useful to have next season.

But my problem is that we need a different type of striker, someone with pace and power. We know pretty much that Defoe and Crouch will be staying. The big question marks are around Keane, Pav and Eidur. I think Keane may be moved on but i'm quite sure he probably won't want to leave as we're on the up right now and he won't be able to find a better club. Eidur, I think if he works on his fitness could be vital seeing as he can comfortably play in midfield or upfront with great intelligence and touch. He also has the experience.

On the face of things I'd have to say keep: Defoe, Crouch. Sign Eidur, sell Keane. Then the big question is if we can get in a strong cf. Well I would actually say that we MUST get in a strong cf as a priority. So that would leave Pav as the fallout guy, but on the other hand if we don't sign Eidur then we could keep Pav and have him, Defoe, Crouch, + powerful cf. That would give us decent options up top to push in all comps next season.

Sell him I say.

He had a great run of about 8 games, and his link up play has improved, but when he goes missing he is seriously poor.

We need one world class forward to complete our squad, and have 5 strikers on our books already.

I'd like us to keep Crouch and Eidur as I think they'll be happy coming off the bench to offer something different.

Keane has to go - I can't see how he offers us anything anymore.

So that means we have no option but to sell Pav - especially since his resale value shouldn't be too bad now, should be able to get £10m for him.

Definitely stay. We should replace Robbie Keane not Pav.

Also, he is one of the few members of our squad with not just CL experience but proper CL pedigree. Also, plenty of games to play next season, the CL and the cups alone would keep him very busy! Next season is where the investment in Pav will really pay off I think.

Completely agree. I can't believe that those who want him to stay actually watch full games. He had a great little run, but overall he's just not consistent enough, and has looked bad again in the last 5 or so games.

However, seems to be a lovely bloke and no doubt the other players like him. If he's happy as a 4th choice who gets a few more games than a 4th choice of previous years then fair enough.. stay... but if we don't qualify for the CL, then what? and our priority has to be top 4 again next year.. so really i can't see him staying.

We need one top class forward, a drogba/rooney/shearer type of skillfull big guy. and really, (if cudicini gets fit) I think that's all we need this summer.

I think his little run of form would prove to some clubs he's worth £10m+ and I think if we were to get an offer like that we should take it.

Yes he did have a purple patch, but I don't think he's what we need. I'd much rather he was sold and we had a player in the mould of Carew who can score goals and bully people, not actually him, but similar attributes.

Did Russia qualify for the WC?

If they did, I feel sorry for him. 2 year season with no break.

Stay please. He was great and scored a lot when he got his chance. Kept playing well I think although the goalscoring stopped at the end of the season. Next year we'll have more games, and I think he can do a great job for us.

he's had a few decent games this season but i'm afraid if we are to progress to the next level, he's got to be replaced.

I'd say the same for Defoe, who i believe simply isn't intelligent enough to play a the highest level.

My four strikers for next season would be : Crouchinho, Eidur, Villa, Big powerful striker who can play on his own when required.
