super pav - more like abysmal pav lately

he'd best buck up - because if we buy another striker he will be fourth in the order behind crouch defoe and new person

There are bits about him and Defoe I like, but neither is likely to step up to the level we need to improve. Given that I just can't see Defoe or Crouch leaving, Pav will bite the dust. That said, if we can't recruit anyone better than Defoe/Crouch/Pav/Keane/Gudjohnsen then I'm happy for Pav to stay. I just don't think it's the best outcome for us.

 Without Pav we'd never have qualified for "the next level".

Complete non-issue.

I think it will boil down to what way Harry wants to shake up our striking dept. Keane will most likely go, Defoe & Crouch will definately stay. So does he keep Eidur, most likely, valuable experience and all that. As for Pav, personally I would like to see him here next year. With a good rest over the summer, a year's experience in the PL and a proper pre-season under his belt, I think he can only improve again. But if the right offer comes in and Harry has his eye on someone else then it may happen. Bringing in new additions to the squad isn't alway a sucess and if they're foreign they can take time to settle both to the league and their new surroundings.

Knee to the jerk.

How is this a knee jerk reaction? This isn't the first time he has looked out of his depth. There a things I really like about him, and hope he stays and proves me wrong.. But I really hope we don't keep him at the expense of a world class powerful number 9 (if we have the opportunity to get one).

The same could be said for the majority of the squad. Everyone who's played more than a handful of games, for me, have done their bit in the grand scheme of things.

The ones who might not get a mention, the likes of Bentley and Kaboul, they've played their parts and rightly should be credited.

Personally I'd be happy to see Pav stay, but wouldn't mind if he wanted to move on (language issues, still maybe hankering for a move back home). Either way we'd be fine.

Meh.

I apologised for calling him shite. But I still don't think he is Prem standard, that's the honest truth but a lot of people will disagree and fair play, not everyone likes the same players. But 2 goals away from home in the league in 2 years is not good enough.

Him and Defoe up front show absolutely no understanding whatsoever although that is as much Defoe's fault as it is Pavs.

In reality, all four of our strikers are good 'options', but I feel Pav is 4th on the list.

Fair play to him for staying and giving it the shot that he did when he could have left in January, he scored some decent goals.

Odd though, as initially last season Pav and Defoe looked to be building up a very good understanding prior to Defoe's injury.

They don't seem as good as a pairing this season though.

yes, we know you couldn't see his class just because his passport is the wrong one in your eyes.

Is there any other of our current strikers that has shown worse form than Pav the last 3-4 months. Do you care to name one or aren't you man enough..?

I put it this way, please do not get hubris now! Let us not tear down what we have actually succeeded in building up this year, just because we think we can buy fucking Messi.
Now it was about Pav and I think we should keep him unless we can get something that is much better for a decent sum of money. Pav will be quite happy as a bench player....
I think we should be careful that we do not disturb the balance of the team. Of course this does not happen just by selling Pav but I think It´s important to remind us all.
Sell Keane!

I guess the logical answer would be that we should let him go for the right price provided we get a superior replacement in.

I'd like to think that the Champions League worm might help us lure a prize forward for next season and if one of our current crop was to leave I doubt very much whether it would be Crouch or Defoe.

I would go with the sensible and logical answer too.

Thank you for coming and being part of Tottenham Hotspur but what has the Roman ever really done for us.... ? ( note kids on the site:this is just a play on words and a Monty Python skit, please don't all the Pav fans on the site that sing the super pav song so vociferously every week at the lane get ants in their pants and start rolling out stats to prove how he is better than Crouch Defoe Messi and Ronaldo, as we all know he isn't) Thank you :hello:

sell him for the right price. He's scored a few but on the whole is not consistent and has missed too many sitters

I think I'd part with Defoe before Pavlyuchenko to be honest. Defoe is so easily brushed aside and contributes so little all round when not scoring. But Let's be clear about this, before parting with either of them we'd have to have a pretty top bollock replacement lined up.

Defoe has actually played a couple of excellent through balls to Gareth Bale in the last couple of games to be fair.

I just feel that pav is very similar in terms of finishing to Defoe but offers just a bit more everywhere else. There's hardly a shit load in it though.

Pav will prove valuable if we get into the CL group stage. I want Pav to stay.

there is no chance of harry keeping pav.

we are going towards the big time, and pav is not the man to lead us.
players who switch it on and off when it suits them, are no use imo.

ive never been a fan of his, though i admit he did ok recentley.
he will be gone and forgotten very quickly
.oh apart from his great song.

In this case a player like Defoe must go too. He's been completely useless the last 3 months

That is if you have the ability to look objective at the players in the squad. I suspect that you can't....
