What a random link.

Hadn't heard of him, but is 22 and has been starting in Serie A for a couple of seasons now. Plus Atalanta seem interested, and their scouting is exceptional.

Could be a really smart addition alongside at least one ready-made starter at CB.

Is Nixon though? Associate him far more with random lower-league gossip on Twitter, albeit fairly accurate.

He's young and has potential. Not sure how good he is yet or how well he'd adapt but worth a try over some of those we have in that area.

And a potential for growth in the Japanese market which would be a huge motivation for a certain someone to support the deal.

This is the type of deal we should be making more often, promising youngsters from lower leagues/foreign leagues alongside more experienced options of course.

Just had a proper look and seems Atalanta have been after him, and DiMarzio reported they were in talks with him this week.

Bodes well that he's seen as a good player by Atalanta, who have a superb scouting system, and also makes sense as they play a back three and it increasingly looks like that's what we're looking to do next season.

Apparently he's tailor made to play as the RCB in a back three but would also be able to cover at RB. Seems like a useful if not super exciting target.

Given we've pretty much maximised our non-homegrown quota it's easy to assume we're looking to sell Sanchez and this guy is the direct replacement, especially given he's an RCB/RB

Never heard of the guy before 5 mins ago but love the profile. Young, big, experienced in big league that our DoF knows we’ll. Pretty cheap at 15M.

He was great for me on Football Manager, proper utility player.

Not sure what he’s like in real life, but this could be Paratici’s knowledge of Italian football coming into play.

I don't think any of our defenders count as HG (at least not in Europe), so that's probably a non-issue as we'll be replacing one like for like anyway.

Google Translate:
Not only Atalanta, the eyes of Tottenham have also rested on Tomiyasu .

The English club has started contacts for the Bologna defender , as revealed by English indiscretions this morning. Contacts that could intensify in the event of Aurier's departure.

Atalanta's interest is still alive on the Bologna defender , who have already made a proposal to the rossoblù club.

It is extremely rare to find players who are comfortable and able to play with ease on both foot. We have already Sonny & Kane of that type.
But to have a defender doing that is extremely rare skill

Tomiyasu is one such player - very good on ball with both foot, 6 3' , reasonable pace and a good defender.

YES please. Lets do this. But its sucks that he wont be available for start of campaign due to Olympics

Hope we get him

This would be a great transfer. He looks to have all the makings to be an excellent centre back. His technical ability with both feet is very impressive.

I do hope we’re looking to bring him in to primarily play centre back and not right back though. He seems more suited to play centrally and I think we need a player with more pace to play out wide.
