Let's be honest our defence needs a total revamp, so this kid will go some way to starting that refresh.

Aurier, Doherty, Dier, Sanchez and Davies are all expendable. I know we won't sell all of them, but if we could we should.

We need a summer a bit like when we signed Erik Edman, Naybet, Paramot etc.

A whole new defence in one window and it worked out well.

A revamp yes…. But does every defender we sign have to be a right sided player?! FFS we been crying for a left sided CH for years now!

He can play LCB and he can play it comfortably by the looks of it. Saw some clips where he confidently carried the ball out of defence and played passes into the channel. Being right footed in a LCB position didn't seem to be an issue either in regards to defending as I saw clips where he was aggressive and beating attackers yo the ball, reading situations well.

Obviously thats a small pool of footage but you can often tell when a defender has issues with this as they look awkward position wise, as well as carrying the ball out. He didn't. Seemed quite assured

We also did it under Poch when we bought trippier, Wimmer and alderweireld in 2015. That worked out well too.

No we don't. They were all shit, apart from Edman's 45 yard screamer against Liverpool (still in my top 10 goals scored by spurs)
We were a bit scattergun that summer but it did bring us Robinson and Carrick (even Ziegler and Pedro Mendes who both had their contributions). The following January also saw us sign Dawson, so we definitely got value from Arnesen’s business.

Plus, Atouba was worth the entry fee just to see what stupid shit he’d do next!

I think just moving on two of those would be good, three would be an excellent window. But, if the next manager is Nuno and he is going to use his favoured 3-4-3 then I would keep Davies (at worst great cover at LCB) and Doherty (a proven RWB in Nuno's system).

Write ups of this kid are very promising but I can’t decide if he’sa right back or a centre back.

Sounds very Ivanovovic/ Corluka.

I really like this, but I’d swap Tanga and Toby, I think Tanganga is really suited to that hybrid role as a wide centre back, while Toby was always better in the middle of the three when Pochettino was in charge due to his passing ability, and now that his legs aren’t quite there any more I suspect even more that he’d enjoy playing that Beckenbaur libero role of playmaker from the back.
