Always like these kinds of deals. Think they’re ones that have historically tended to work out better for us. Young players with top level experience but are good value and a little under the radar. Good start to the window if we can get it done.

Please can someone confirm that, for the avoidance of doubt, a song has already been penned to the tune of Holding Out for a Hero?

If not, please can one of you sort this out for FUCK'S SAKE.

"deal expected to be done"

Interesting comment on Aurier. Having seen none of this guy, I’d have expected that with his height he’d be seen more as a centre back if we go fit a 3 and maybe a 2, and only rb if we go for a traditional back 4, but the clips do show him to have a lick of pace and good dribbling so who knows.

You do get tall wingbacks but they’re not that common.

Takehiro!
Gonna need Takehiro til the end of the night
He’s gotta be strong and he’s gotta be fast
And he’s gotta be up for the fight.

Well there ya go, the manager search has finally broke me and I’ve ended up putting a players name to a song. This is what happens in the depth of depravity.

If he does arrive, he won't be used as a wing back that's for sure! Maybe a RB in a back 4 but NES demands wingbacks when playing 5 at the back to be creative and have attacking talent. He would be a great option for the right sided CB role!

That’s my gut too but equally it’d help if anyone has seen enough of him to judge his pace, energy and suitability for that 100 yard back and forth role. I feel like he’s likely to be judged by a lot of us on his suitability by how tall he is, but he’s the same height as Marcos Alonso and only an inch taller than Matt Doherty. I can’t profess to have ever heard of him until he was linked so I don’t know, but it may be that he’s actually very suited to that role.

Top players would still get the permit relatively easily. It's getting the talents from abroad, that has yet to truly prove themselves, that might prove to be a lot more difficult. Time will tell but IIRC the English FA and Prem teams have expressed some concerns. Time will tell I guess :)
thanks for the info. Yep time will tell.

our bessie mates @ sky are reporting we've had a bit rejected, we apparently offered £12.9m + add ons, and bologna want £17m

He wont play as LCB, he has played 90% of his footy at RB, RCB or CB. So looks like if Nuno plays Paritici's requested back 3, he will be perfect for RCB. I personally think that he will be selected over Andersen.

I don’t mind a back three to be fair.

I have nothing else to add.

I see that the price is being negotiated. It will be interesting to see whether Paratici tries to barter them down to fit Levy’s MO or whether he’s more a “get it done” type of operator.
Hopefully he’ll be decent at getting transfers done quickly.
I like transfer committees that move swiftly on this stuff. No pissing about. Want the man, pay for the man, get the man in. No nonsense. Don’t quibble over a mill here and there which will amount to approximately £200k per year when paying in instalments as we tend to do. It’s not worth missing out on a target for those kinds of figures which are paltry to a PL football club.

One of the reasons I didn’t want Poch back is because I think he’d still reject deals like this. Nuno wasn’t even in my top 5 choices but it’s nice that he’s trusting Paritici to bring in players that will suit us. It might just be a good fit for the current state of the club.

I swear Sky Sports reporting of the club is ridiculous. Always a narrative of Tottenham being knocked back or rejected..

If was a different club it would read, "United close to Tomiyasu" but for us it's always "Spurs rejected by Tomiyasu" winds me up!
