Oh really... why?
Due to armed conflict in Dagestan, players live and train in Moscow and only travel to Dagestan for home matches. The home stadium lacks the facilities to host Europa League matches; hence they play in Moscow (Locomotiv's ground?).

must be trouble in or around the area.

Not the first time they have had to play their European games in a different venue.
Read that the team stay up around Moscow and train up there as well. Only travel down for the home league games

yep Dagestan has had major problems for years and is far too dangerous to play most matches at plus it's also a tiny ground i think, the players also do not live anywhere near the ground and travel i think its about a 1000 miles to the ground when they can play their . I have read quite a bit up on this and there are some interesting bits on the bbc about it

Any indication of how many we have going over there?

Fans I mean, not players.

seems i was wrongish about the ground capacity as it's far bigger now as they moved to another one in 2013 but before they played at a 15000 stadium

Stadium

Anzhi played at the Dynamo Stadium until 2013.
Due to armed conflict in Dagestan, the club's players live and train in a village near Moscow, at a training base previously used by Saturn Moscow. The club fly in for home matches,[24][25] which have a heavy security presence.[26]
The club's 28,000-seat Anzhi-Arena was built in 2003, and due to its facilities is not used in European competition, for which Anzhi use the Lokomotiv Stadium in Moscow. A high-priority goal of Kerimov when he purchased the club was the construction of a new 40,000 seater ground.[27][28]

yeah, Sigy, Vlad and Fryers also in a photo with a couple of the players and a load of staff!

Thought we would have taken less staff over, but there is a huge photo of them all on twitter

so looks Eriksen, Walker, Dembele & Sigurdson are 100% there that played on Saturday. I think he may have taken the full squad.

I just checked exactly where AM is. It's on the Caspian see for bleep's sake. How UEFA decide that the Russian league should be in European comps... Put another way they are more than TWICE as far away as Budapest and I think that most would describe that as towards the Eastern limit of Europe

Basically don't even take the first 15

Just as well we're not playing FC Luch-Energiya Vladivostok...

Is anyone else slightly worried that the lads are on a day trip to Brighton when we play Angie Makakakakakaka in about 24hours time?

Never mind team selection, what about a more pressing concern.
Is it just me that at the mere mention of Anzhi, starts to try and crowbar football related lyrics into the Rolling Stones 'Angie' song?

'Anzhi, Aiiiiiiiinzhi, erm, er.....'

Basically that's as far as I got :/

"Boom Boom, Makachakalaka Boom
Tick tock tick tock BOOOOOOOM!'

Unless The Fresh Prince never made it over id expect to hear that tomorrow evening!
Best club song EVER!

Not Traveled
Gomes, Rose, Vertonghen, Capoue, Paulinhio, Lennon, Adebayor

Traveled
Lloris, Friedel, Archer, Walker, Naughton, Fryers, Chiriches, Dawson, Kaboul, Sandro, Dembele, Sigurdsson, Holtby, Lamela, Eriksen, Townsend, Chadli, Soldado, Kane, Defoe.

From that I think we should go with;

Lloris
Naughton - Kaboul - Chirchiles - Fryers
Sandro - Holtby
Lamela - Sigurdson - Chadli
Defoe

Subs: Freidal, Walker, Dawson, Dembele, Eriksen, Townsend, Kane

I have a feeling that some people are only putting Dawkins in the side because of what that 'lookslikemodric' said about him...

Could you refresh my memory? Because now he seems like that odd guy in his mid twenties that only hangs out with teenagers...

Lewis looks frightened, confused, lost...until you see his leg. Defoe looks like he doesn't give a wotsit. "That's right Russia. The awesome is here!"

Vlad gurning in the background.

The best thing about that picture is since AVB has come in all the staff and players look extremely happy all the time, it's kind of heart warming. We're a team now.

Team ethic counts for an awful lot and whilst they aren't seen as ideal trips, they are a great way to forge a good group mentality and will certainly help the likes of Eriksen, Lamela and co to settle that little bit quicker.
