People whacking up teams containing Dawkins could just as well put Messi, Ronaldo or Jesus in his place. It would make the pretend team better and more exciting. And the three aforementioned probably have a better shot at being involved.

I just checked exactly where AM is. It's on the Caspian see for bleep's sake. How UEFA decide that the Russian league should be in European comps... Put another way they are more than TWICE as far away as Budapest and I think that most would describe that as towards the Eastern limit of Europe

Basically don't even take the first 15

They're only about 50 miles from Tblisi though I believe, we seemed to manage that one ok!

[Edit] And anyway I've just read on and realised that their home matches are in Moscow anyway.

-------------Friedel----------
Naughton--Dawson-Kaboul-Fryers
---------------Sandro-------
-----Holtby--------------Siggy
Lamela--------Defoe-----Chadli

Vlad can replace Dawson if he is eligible Anzhi are doing terrible this season

I agree with Snarf, play Soldado to get confidence up. If Ade is fit enough I might play him in the hole and Holtby in the double pivot.

Otherwise:

------------------------- Friedel -------------------------
Naughton --- Kaboul --------- Chiriches ---- Fryers
--------- Sandro ------------------- Siggy---------
-- Lamela ------------ Holtby -------------- Chadli --
------------------------ Soldado ------------------------

If Ade could play, then him to come in for Siggy and Holtby to drop deeper

I like that idea, it could really work. Really, really work.

I like!
Gomes
Naughton Dawson Chiriches Fryers
Sandro Holtby
Lamela......Adebayor..Townsend
Soldado
Something like this. Nice.

I would think the team will be similar to the last few Europe and cup games.

GK - Friedel
LB - Rose
CB - Chiriches
CB - Kaboul
RB - Naughton
CM - Sandro
CM - Paulinho
AM - Chadli
AM - Holtby
AM - Lamela
CF - Defoe

Subs
Lloris, Walker, Dawson, Sigurdsson, Townsend, Soldado, Kane

I think Paulinho will continue but might be worth giving him a rest and putting someone else in.

I would go with:
Friedel
Naughton Chiriches Kaboul Fryers
Sandro Bentelab
Lamela Holtby Chadli
Defoe

Bench: Gomes, Dawson, Capoue (if fit or Milos if not), Lennon (If fit or McEvoy if not), Dawkins, Kane, Ade
This would save the whole 1st team (except Dawson and Naughton if Rose is still out) the trip, so they are fresh for Sunday.

Holtby, Dembele and Chadli are all out there so looks like it will be a strong team. Just hope some have been left back with an eye on Sundays game.

I have a feeling that some people are only putting Dawkins in the side because of what that 'lookslikemodric' said about him...

Will Dembele be ok for Sunday? Really disappointing news that.

Hope this doesn't cost us on Sunday if we go full strength.

He played against QPR yesterday at the training ground after the team had already headed out

Doesnt mean we will play. Could just be on the bench for all we know
Travel would still be exhausting though (for most people anyway)

Sorry Chris, forget my last post as I misread your initial post - thought it had said those players were ruled out.

Erikssen and Walker too.

Looks like a fairly full squad has travelled

yeah, Sigy, Vlad and Fryers also in a photo with a couple of the players and a load of staff!

Thought we would have taken less staff over, but there is a huge photo of them all on twitter

Oh really... why?

must be trouble in or around the area.

Not the first time they have had to play their European games in a different venue.
Read that the team stay up around Moscow and train up there as well. Only travel down for the home league games
