Do we know if Rose will be fit ? If not I don't know who will play there .

Somebody mentioned elsewhere that Rose has a hamstring injury. Should that be correct, don't think he'll play much more this season. By the looks of it, Davies will also be out 3 or 4 games. Maybe time to try out one of our juniors.

It's a shame our 2nd and 3rd choice strikers are abysmal as Kane is screaming out for some support.

Maybe it's time for 433 or 352 or even 343...
Lloris (c)

Dier Fazio Vertongen

Yedlin Bentaleb Dembele Davies

Lamela Kane Chadli
If was a two, I think Chadli would do well up top with Kane. Decent in the air, intelligent and pacey.

Lloris
Yedlin-Dier-Vertonghen-Rose
Paulinho-Bentaleb
Dembele
Lamela-Kane-Chadli

Think a 4-3-3 is necessary otherwise we will be overpowered in midfield, Eriksen and Mason were both poor and Paulinho played very well v Newcastle, so assuming he's not on paternity leave I'd slot him in next to Bentaleb. Eriksens form may be due to tiredness, so is a good option to have off the bench.

Lots of people are giving eriksen stick but he is surely suffering from fatigue like most of the players. There are other factors like not having a creative midfield player, but stats have shown how much he runs and how hard he works so it isn't just a lack of dynamism or feeling too secure. He is simply cream crackered imo.

I like the 352 and it's a formation we could successfully deploy in the future. For it to work though we'll need attack minded full backs and a 2nd reliable striker. Rose is decent enough going forward but Walker is a disaster. A pacy or a hard working striker to compliment Kane is also essential.

Subject to fitness, against City we could try:

Lloris

Dier
Fazio
Vertonghen

Yedlin
Dembele
Bentaleb
Chadli
Rose

Lamela
Kane

I dont want to see

1. Bentaleb and mason pairing
2. Davies as LB
3. Eriksen in the lineup

So with that criteria in place:-

.....................Lloris.....................
Yedlin...Dier.......Verts.......Rose
................Stambouli...................
.......Bentaleb.......Dembele........
Lamela..........Kane..........Chadli

Lloris
Yedlin Fazio Vertonghen Rose
Dembele Stambouli Bentaleb
Lamela Kane Chadli

Vorm, Dier, Mason, Paulinho, Onomah, Eriksen, Soldado

If Paulinho is still out tending to his wife, Townsend in his place.

If Rose is still out, Dier at RCB, Fazio at LCB, Vertonghen at LB, Vlad on the bench.

Yedlin Dier Vertonghen Ogilvie

Or if we have to go with Poch's 4231:

Yedlin Dier Vertonghen Ogilvie

Mason Bentaleb

Lamela Onomah Eriksen

Kane

Can't work out what I'm missing when I watch Lamela playing, you all seem to want him in the team! I think he's been consistently poor recently, although he tries hard. I would have liked to see a confident Townsend following his England goal - and wish we still had Lennon as an option. I dislike narrow football, our fullbacks are not good wing backs, especially with Rose missing. Zero service for Kane and precious little excitement today.
Consistently poor.
He has scored and set up Kane in his last 2 games.
Thanks I will take the poor player.

I think we have a good shot at getting the three points here, my team would be...

Lloris(C); Yedlin, Dier, Vertonghen, Rose(?); Mason, Bentaleb; Lamela, Dembele, Townsend; Kane.

Vorm, Fazio, Davies(?), Paulinho(?), Eriksen, Chadli, Soldado.

Big test to play against City in your first PL-game, but well, Yedlin has the speed to handle it. If he has anything else, I'm not sure but he have to get some chances! Dier and Jan, don't wanna see Fazio against Aguero. Rose like I said, if healthy. He's been so good. I think Mason, Bentaleb and Dembele would win the midfield. Lamela to create chances and Townsend to use his speed on the left. Big Harry up top.
