Ooooooh maybe this!

Lloris

Walker Dier Vertonghen Rose

Paulinho Bentaleb

Lamela Kane Chadli

Soldado

Gives Kane a rest from frontline and gives eriksen a kick up booty.

Need to shut them down in midfield otherwise we'll get murdered.

Not sure how we do that though. Stambouli?

*sigh*

Yeah I am pretty worried about our midfield against Man City as well - maybe Paulinho and Bentaleb would be worth persevering with since they actually seemed to work quite well together in the last match they played. Mason is decent but I think he needs a rest and could be more effective from the bench. Would like to see Stambouli also but for whatever reason I cant see him being started in such a difficult match without having played for so long.

No Kane da fuck...?

Yeah, why not? I'm not at all bothered with results up to the end of the season and I think we need to have a look at Chadli at No.9, plus Kane could do with a rest in my opinion. I'd rather use these games to assess the viable options we have going into next season.

Wrong game for giving Kane a rest. City isn't playing as careful as Saints, and there will be opportunities for Kane. He must start.

Time to bring Dembele back in and give Eriksen a rest, he's been pretty inactive for a few weeks now (aside from his lucky goal).

Lloris
Yedlin Dier Vertonghen Rose
Bentaleb Mason
Lamela Dembele Chadli
Kane

The thought of Aguero against Fazio scares the shit out of me, so much so I'd rather have Chiriches in the back four and that's saying something. That is the team I would like to see but I think we'll see Dier, Fazio, Vertonghen and Rose.

Don't think he'll drop his golden boy Eriksen either even though Moussa would offer much better ball retention and he can drop back in to make a midfield three to support Bentaleb and Mason.

We will have the exact same formation and team as we normally do. No consideration will be taken into the opposition and their threats. I am resigned to that now.:(

Plus, given our full-back apocalypse Stambouli is now the defensive stand-in.

Think it will be:
Lloris
Dier Vlad Fazio Verts
Mason Bentaleb
Lamela Eriksen Chadli
Kane

Assuming Rose, Davies and Walker are still crocked and that Bentaleb's limping as he went off was just a spot of cramp.

Lloris

Dier fazio verts rose

Stambouli bentaleb

Lamela dembele chadli

Kane

Would have had Lamela in the middle with maybe Townsend on the right, but it's man city so dembele will add much needed steel.

Eriksen dropped purely due to poor form.

Trouble with that is that Newcastle were absolutely pathetic. I have no faith whatsoever in Paulinho getting stuck into Man City. Similarly, I think Mason/bentaleb is just a weak pairing. We need a destroyer in there. Capoue might as well go on early holiday, and stambouli has, inexplicably, not kicked a ball in anger for weeks inspite of some fairly feeble recent displays from us in CM. Not looking forward to this one one bit.

Amazing to think that Kane, Eriksen and Chadli have 40 league goals between them.

As do Aguero, Silva and Toure for City.

Stambouli should be starting next to Bentaleb IMO

Agree with you but he hasn't had a kick for weeks. Fairly sure we'll see Mason or Paulinho with Bentaleb which is the stuff of nightmares.

There was a point under AVB where we couldn't even buy a goal, and were crying out for the strikers and midfielders to score more.
