But he was poor, in my opinion. I can't see how there's an issue there. I've even said in other threads that period was a settling in period and he needs to kick on and show he's a good player, because frankly, he was a headless chicken last year.

He wasn't good, but he wasn't as bad as some people are making him out to have been. He was no worse than a lot of our other players, and to be honest it means nothing to me considering he was playing out of position, in the same way I wouldn't judge Vertonghen on any of his LB games last year

A slight exaggeration (though to say he's "nowhere near" Eriksen would show you don't think much of him), I love the 'get a grip' from you after your previous posts :ROFLMAO: The fact that little segment if my post is all you've got to comment on speaks wonders.

It was all I needed to read. You've upset me and made me cross.

How old are you? For someone with 32,985 posts on an internet forum you're not great with discussions..
Really? Gylfi is 6ft and i wouldn't of said he had decent pace to play out wide in the Premier league..
Being tall doesn't mean big as you and others always imply. Crouch is 6 foot 8+, does that make him big? No, like Syggi he has a small frame. It just rubs me when someone who is tall is describes as big! Rant over.
Point taken, i wouldn't describe Siggy as having a small frame though.

I have a feeling lennon will play, if he is fit. Also townsend will prob play due to not playing internationals. Lamela and paulinho will be on bench at best.

I think it will be sandro, dembele in front of the back 4 and then lennon, holtby, townsend behind soldado to start the game. Eriksen will be on bench. Lamela may also be on bench with paulinho but big trips for both of them. Siggy also a big chance on bench with his versatility.

Edit: forgot chadli. He will prob start over lennon or townsend. I obviously have no idea. :)

You want creativity?

Lloris
Walker Chiricheș Vertonghen Rose
Holtby Sigurðsson
Lennon Eriksen Lamela
Soldado

Subs: Friedel, Kaboul, Naughton, Paulinho, Townsend, Chadli, Adebayor.

From what I've seen Chadli and Paulinho are far more creative than Gylfi or Lennon. I'm not sure Holtby's looked very creative either.

we must have a different definition of creativity. chadli has shown good approach play so far but i've not seen anything particularly creative from him. paulinho doesn't have a creative bone in his body. sigurdsson has creativity but often can't pull it off and lennon's pace opens up avenues for the rest of the team. even with all of these new players, the ball to lennon in behind the lb and cut back to the strikers is still the most potent offensive move we have.

holtby played in defoe a fair few times against tbilisi but they're not exactly a great barometer, he was the main creative threat for schalke from what i can tell and also looked pretty tidy there for germany at the u21s tournament.

Not going to comment on the former, but even if the latter were true (which it's not), that guy has put Holtby in a CM/DM role, where his job would be to get the ball into the front 4 as apposed to making chances himself

Agree with everything you've said except on Paulinho. You gotta drop your agenda regarding him - you said he wasn't a good signing, fine, but so far he's been good and you have to accept that. As for no creativity it's not necessarily his job but he has got a lot passes out to the wings and the danger areas

As long as Kaboul can play the full game, pretty please AVB :).

Spot on mate. I downloaded the NLD to watch it in detail and I must say I am thoroughly impressed with his effort so far. His movement on and off the ball have been effective in spite of the lack of understanding between players. He gets into the right positions and is almost always a threat. As you say its not really his job to be the creative focus of our attack and still he delivers. Can you imagine what we'll see when get some real flow going?

On another note does anyone know if Ade is back in training. I'm really curious as to the prospect of him forming a partnership with Soldado (similar to the one Crouch and Defoe had). I think they're two players who could really work well together.

Like it a lot. This would be my team bearing in mind internationals and time with the team.

Edit: are chadli and townsend on wrong side? Just a small point and I may be wrong myself.

Eriksen on at 55 mins if we are struggling. Lamela at 75 if still struggling.

Just to add to that, I would still be happy if Holtby started. I would just opt for Eriksen if it were a choice between the two.

If neither started, I'd be fuming.

walker daws verts rose
paulinho dembele
townsend lamela chadli
GOLdado

You could be fuming... :watching:

Don't think there's any chance of this, but if I was manager, would be tempted to play it at home to mix it up a bit. Also think Adebayor has the potential to bring so much creativity/assists to the table.
