Do think this will be the side for Saturdy, allowing for travel as well...guessing it will be:

Lloris

Walker
Dawson
Vertonghen
Rose

Sandro
Dembele

Townsend
Eriksen
Chadli

Soldado

Subs: Friedel, Kaboul, Paulinho, Holtby, Lamela, Siggy, Defoe

Not sure where Adebayor is at in terms of training. Naughton probably be on the bench for one of the midfielders mind. And assuming Lennon is still out. Chirst, when you consider everyone fit (with Capoue to come back etc)...there is going to be some big names not even making the bench on some match days!!

We do a prediction league competition at work, loosely based on 'Lawro's Predictions'.

There's 5 of us, a gooner, a chav, a manure fan and a scouser. I've gone for a 4-0 win, the gooner and chav have us down for a 3-0 win, the manure fan is yet to submit and the scouser has us down to draw 1-1.

I'm hoping we play the team belsunz posted just above and score a hat full, otherwise all the pundits will talk about is Bale going and the signings not being good enough etc etc. A good convincing win and performance will hopefully help those ****s move on...

This is not our strongest team, but prob what we will start with on Saturday:

Lloris
Walker - Daws - Verts - Rose
Sandro - Dembele
Townsend - Holtby - Chadli
Soldado

  • Lamela just got off a flight from Paraguay and hardly knows his team mates. He is likely to start on the bench.
  • Holtby deserves a start after a few good games, and with how AVB slowly introduce new players to the team it wont suprise me if Holtby starts and Eriksen is benched.
  • Paulinho had a long trip and Capoue out, so we will prob see the old Sandro+Dembele pairing
  • Would love to see Kaboul (or even Chiriches) start ahead of Daws, but not sure on Kabouls fitness and Chiriches is so new to the team and country so we will prob see Daws in the starting lineup.

I think you might be right with that.

Without wishing to sound too negative, it's a bit of a second rate team really.

A far cry from our strongest lineup in season 11-12 :(

Lloris
Walker Kaboom Verts Rose

Sandro Paulinio

Eriksson

Townsend Soldado Chadli

Very difficult to leave out certain players, but some need a little more time to integrate, possibly swap CE for LH as well.

I think we'll go with:
Lloris
Walker Dawson Vertonghen Rose
Sandro Dembele
Eriksen
Townsend Soldado Chadli
Bench: Friedel, Naughton, Kaboom, Paulinho, Holtby, Lamela, Defoe
Hell of a strong bench.

AVB on Chiriches: “We haven’t finalised his work permit yet."

Well that's a bit of a bugger, would have liked to have seen him featured at the lane, even if he was on the bench

The sooner Kaboul reaches full fitness and takes his rightful place next to Vertonghen the better!

With our style of play, yes. But I fuckin love me some Daws. The decision to stay and fight for his Spurs shirt instead of guaranteed play every week secured him a no(?) homo spot in my heart forever.

I want this team to be built around 3 people: Lloris, Vertonghen, Sandro. Until proven otherwise everyone else is just an accessory.

Lloris
Walker - Vertonghen - Dawson - Rose
Sandro - Dembele
Lennon - Holtby - Townsend
Soldado
Send on Eriksen & Lamela after 60 minutes.

I'm almost certain Eriksen won't start (due to AVB's integration tactics)

That's not a big issue for me, it's an issue if AVB goes with Paulinho - Sandro - Dembele ... He has to include Holtby in place of one of them.

Lamela will most likely be used off the bench again.

The one thing I want to see from AVB is more proactive subs, he always waits until like 70-75 to make a sub, he needs to get the necessary players on at HT if things aren't working.

Completely agree, but also not take off an attacking type of player for a defensive one if we are 1-0 up after 50 minutes

So he's training without pay then? Poor lad, I don't know how he's living.

Ben Pearce went to AVB's pre-match briefing, Windy asked him to ask about Adebayor and I asked him re Lamela's return flight to Uk, so lots of speific info on these.

Lookls like no Ade or Lamela (except maybe on bench) or chirches (unless work permit finalised Friday am), Would suggest Eriksen likely to start.

Ben Pearce@BenPearceSpurs#thfc AVB: "At the moment Ade is not with us. We have granted him authorisation to stay up until Monday in his country for personal reasons"

Ben Pearce@BenPearceSpurs
#thfc AVB: "He [Ade] is not going to be involved against Norwich. Up to when I find it appropriate, he will train with the development team”

Ben Pearce @BenPearceSpurs
#thfc AVB said there's a "big possibility" that Eriksen will be involved v Norwich "but it's not a certainty yet". Lamela landed in UK today

Ben Pearce @BenPearceSpurs
#thfc AVB on Chiriches: "“We haven’t finalised his work permit yet. It’s a process that takes a bit more time – unfortunately for him.."

Ben Pearce @BenPearceSpurs
#thfc AVB: "He is fit, he is training and he was involved in both games for Romania, but there is the possibility we won’t see him involved”

@SpursOfficialAnd team news, Andre added: 'Sigurdsson has a dead leg & Lamela arrived back this morning but most of the players are fit and looking good'
