I know this may sound incredibly arrogant but I really dont care that we are heading out of the europa league as I dont seem to have any emotional attachment during the games, I dont feel joyous when we score or angry and upset when we concede.

I really dont know why I dont care about this comp anymore as I loved it when we played Sevilla and Braga a few years back but it just fails to get my adrenline going and that is why I watch Spurs because the 90 minutes is like being on drugs as a range of emotions take over.

But for me the europa league is like a dud pill.

Shit.

Kane looks like he could be a Teddy Sheringham type. He has some good touches and holds the ball up well, but he lacks the speed of thought of our teddy, still i agree lets not write him off just yet.

I thought Falque looked alot better today than previously. I had written him off, but he was trying hard, and had far better close control than anyone, bar modders.

Good comments both.

What really emerged today is the importance of having players who are mentally focussed and brimming with self-belief. I do not accept that anyone was not match fit, but Gomes, Corluka and Bassong are feeling unloved; Pienaar and Rose are desperate to impress; Gallas .... I am not certain what Gallas excuse is.

Livermore I am not convinced by; it was quite telling when twice he passed into space where no player was. When you see him making defence splitting passes I think this is what he is doing, playing the ball he has been taught to look for rather than seeing what is actually on.

Kane on the other hand impressed me by not always playing the obvious ball; working with a strike partner on the same wavelength I think he could be rather effective.

Sorry mate but there were two occasions tonight where he had simple passes to Lennon and he made a mess of it.

There were, his passing was very sloppy tonight and its possibly the worst game he has had for us.

I was talking about in general when he plays, thought you were as well in that he never plays the simple ball to Lennon.

It doesn't until you realise just how shit Ligue 2 was, and remains.

That I have no idea about :)

I guess now we're out of the europa and league cup we should be loaning all the players that won't be involved in the next gen out to champ/league 1 teams. I think the likes of Kane/Carroll need a good half season in the championship to see how they can get on.

Would be nice to see them loaned out abroad, ere divisie maybe. Unlikely to happen though I know.

Mate my feelings arn't a million miles away from yours....I want us to go for everything, and winning trophies is what its all about, but I'm not going to lie....it makes the sole objective of acquiring CL football this season a lot less complicated and our focus won't sway.

We'll still have the FA Cup to have a crack at if we fail to qualify.

All in all though I hear you.

PAOK fans were amazing. They were so loud, the sound was practically hurting my ears.

Even though they've completely screwed with the format I still wanted us to win this so i'm very disappointed that we're going out. I think because we were in the CL once people are getting a bit ahead of themselves. The EL still has big teams in it and we weren't good enough to make the CL this year and the EL was our reality so I would have liked us to do well. Personally i'm very disappointed about this. Europe still holds prestige for me.

If Harry had really not cared, then Defoe, Lennon and Modric wouldn't have started, and Bale & Walker wouldn't have come on. As it is we rotated the team in a way we though should win, and dominated the game, but it just didn't happen.

once again, i would those who questioned my criticism to Bassong since his arrival, i think some thought he had a huge potential
He costs us today with his poor defending, he changed the whole scenario.

Corluka and SP displays in 1st half so poor as well.

the others did well as they could, specially Defoe.

Gallas dribbling the ball out and losing it for the first goal didnt help, I think he was Rose's man too.

I think its unfair just to single him out.

I know Gallas was at fault for losing the ball way out of position but what alarmed me was Basssong's position just before the cross came in...he was nowhere near tight enough.

I only saw one replay but how I saw it was Bassong was focused on one guy and Rose had the goalscorer. Rose tracks him then inexplicably stops, the guy takes two more steps and nods it in as it goes over the head of Bassong.

Bassong could have been better positioned, but he was Rose's man.

So basically Harry put out a team to win and we could not beat a average greekt league team at home with ten men, not sure which is worse to be honest  so should I now be angry with the players?

I'll have to watch it again but I thought Bassong wasn't marking anyone....the goal scorer was between him and Rose in a lot of space.

You could well be right but at the very at least it shows Bassong didn't have the awareness to correct his positioning before it was too late.
