Not sure where else to put this but a national paper shouldn't be printing such things, surely?

Does it mean that all other fans have to hate us because of our Jewish connections, because that how it could be read.

In Marca today on Spurs. "Their Jewish origins have made them into a club, disliked by rival fans".

Based on what Hercules has said, and assuming Wanyama, Dembele and Davies are all out, I suspect we'll see either:

Lloris

Toby Sanchez Foyth

Aurier Dier Winks Vertonghen

Son Eriksen

Kane

OR

Lloris

Toby Sanchez Vertonghen

Aurier Dier Winks Walker-Peters

Son Eriksen

Kane

Didn't we have to change to a back 4 v Dortmund when our high line with a back 3 kept getting exposed, wouldn't be surprised if we start that way on Tuesday.

The fullbacks got pushed down into a back 5, which led to Dembele and Dier having to defend acres of space at times, since Eriksen and Son were supposed to stay higher than they would have to if our intent was to play 5-4-1.

In the second half, Davies and Aurier pushed up 20 yards and formed a midfield four and trusted Vertonghen and Alderweireld to cover the space behind them (like we usually play), which meant that Eriksen and Son could drop down in central areas to help win possession rather then having to drop to the flanks.

I suspect the setup in the second half was closer to what we were supposed to be doing in the first half as well.

Tactical surprises. Ai, me do not like the sound of that when I try to picture of the execution of it, even if I support the initial sentiment.

Lloris
Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertongehn
Aurier, Winks, Davies/Walker-Peters
Son, Eriksen, Llorente,
Kane

Hopefully it's Walker-Peters in at left wing back, Vertonghen was poor out there on Saturday, I know lots of people have been praising his performance, but it wasn't good. Can't see a CL debut being given in the back three to Foyth.

I thought Vertonghen was our best player personally

Vertonghen is always very good at LB, Saturday included.

I know it's Real Madrid but in the context of our season this isn't actually an important match.

The crucial match in this group is the away leg against Dortmund on Nov 21. That will decide who will qualify for the knockout stages because no way are RM going to miss out.

Meanwhile, we have a vital match against Liverpool on Sunday with much of our first team squad looking tired and jaded. if I was Poch i'd start the squad players and kids, park the bus, and kick lumps out of them til they wished they'd never heard the phrase "special relationship".

(Of course, if I was actually travelling to the Bernabeu i'd be furious if Poch did this ;)).

First half he put in two or three crosses, but otherwise just passed the ball back to Toby every time he got it. Second half was much better, but I don't want him playing LB/LWB for us.

Who's tired and jaded?

First half he was our weakest link. Second half was much better, when he was playing more of a wing back position.

I love Jan, think he's our best centre back, but he wasn't good on Saturday, particularly first half.
Oh right. Yeah I agree second half was better.

I wouldn't want us to go to the Bernebeau resting a load of players and effectively throwing the match just like Brendan Rodgers done when Liverpool were in the CL and I suspect that Poch wouldn't want to either.
