Who would you pick? For me, assuming the players are fit of course, I'd go back to basics and use what has by and large been successful this season.

same as you BBLG. If Gallas is fit then obviously he ll come in for Bassong but apart from that id say our team is very easy to pick. If Bale wasnt able to start then id expect Pienaar to come in

all combos including Op are similarly solid to be fair
when modric is defending the back four he never does anything rash and cant really think of anyone better in that position. all this ''a modric midfield sacrifices solidity is BS. i do think there are times when he would have more impact on certain games (away to real for example) from a drifting left midfield position, especially with an attacking left back. one of the various reason we have run out of ideas of late.

As O/P but I'm confident Gallas will make it - I think his being rested yesterday was only a precaution.

I'm not sure about crouch, as unlike the other teams we played, carvelho has played against crouch before

And Carvalho hasn't really struggled against crouch before and pepe is quiet physical so crouch might be ineffective depending on the ref

I think Gallas will play, honestly I do. Harry has now said that he hopes he'll be fit but is more of a doubt than Bale. That to me says Harry was covering his decisions, he's become slightly more positive after the Wigan game.

I still think we may see Pienaar in the side, his workrate away at Milan was immense but then again I expect the team quoted by BBLG...with Gallas playing.

IF Bale is out, then I'd stick Pienaar out wide left and keep everything else the same. Although I'd love Hudd to play, Pienaar would track back from the left whilst also keeping Modric in his rightful position.

Because you can literally see him shitting himself everytime he has the ball at his feet.

The more he plays the more confident he gets.

Lack of game time will show in a big game like this.

However, if he is our only option i shall support him all the way.
