Lloris, Eriksen, Ade + 8 others.
Well, if Kane continues to impress and push on and score more goals, I can see a starting front three ofHave to say I like the sound of the 4-1-3-2 or 4-3-1-2 that has been suggested in here. With Sandro, Bentaleb or Dembele coming in for Lennon. Although a midfield diamond or even a 4-3-3 could work with that personnel.
We must be on for the most unique lineups and formations used in a season so why not keep it up. Its too late for us to benefit from consistency now.
Our wingers are not bringing much to the table right now so wouldn't be a bad shout. Shame walker isn't fit or else he would be ideal with a tighter midfield.
Kane and Ade starting seems to be a given based on the post match comments. Plus for me it's essential to give Vlad, Eriksen, Chadli and even Paulinho as much game time as possible until the end of the season.
Then all we'll need is someone to stumble across a fit Erik Lamela on their easter egg hunt and bring him back into the fold...

What are the specifics of WBA's team which makes you think we'd be ill-advised to play the same team as we did against Sunderland?
They are better than Sunderland...?What are the specifics of WBA's team which makes you think we'd be ill-advised to play the same team as we did against Sunderland?
Personally I wasn't overly impressed with Chadli and Paulinho as a centre midfield pairing. Both struggled for positioning and defensive awareness for long times IMO.
I thought Sunderland were especially poor throughout and therefore could not take any advantage and therefore. I'd personally like to see us thicken up the midfield a bit especially considering we are away from home.

And Sunderland still managed to walk through us with far to much ease too many times. That is my concern, we have a fragile defence that is prone to making mistakes, they need the cover of someone like Sandro or Capoue sitting in front of them to provide some much needed protection.
And when we come up against better teams, we struggle and it is only the quality of the players we have that get us through.
I would be very concerned if we played the same line up against a better side.
What do you mean?Same as above goes for you GL.
As to what specific about the West Brom team?As in the post above where i replied to SpartanSpur

quote="sloth, post: 3964623, member: 4020"]I watched the match, with a close eye and without emotion, the following day, and with several of these type comments from the ratings thread in mind, and i didn't see that at all. I urge people to watch it again, even if you just skim it, and see if your memory of the match matches reality.
Here's a stream, no download necessary: http://livefootballvideo.com/fullmatch/england/premier-league/tottenham-hotspur-vs-sunderland-3
Thanks for the link, however I will simply take your word for it as I don't think I have the time to watch the full game again.
I don't know too much about this current West Brom team except they are struggling for results. We may therefore succeed with a 2 man midfield again however away from home against a struggling side I would want try to avoid weakness through the middle. Last thing we want to do is give the crowd something to get behind and their players something to fight for.
As far as I know they don't really have pacey wingers so a more narrow formation might do the trick like the away performance at St James' Park. Control the game and pounce on their mistakes. Even with a 3 man midfield we can put out an attacking lineup. I think they are a bit of a threat from set pieces with McAuley especially so maybe Dawson would be an option.
To expand on this we could still retain Chadli and Paulinho in the centre whilst adding either Sandro to hold or Bentaleb to add energy to press and retain possession. Width could come from full backs and strikers pulling into channels. Eriksen simply drifting into spaces in front of the three.
As to what specific about the West Brom team?
Couldn't possibly as I have not seen enough of WestBrom to make an informed choice or an opinion on the specifics of WestBrom . So I have had use what I have seen Spurs do to make an opinion. Which is, we get opened far to easy and against better teams we struggle and as team we are not that balanced.
Re, watching the match again? No, sorry for the confusion, I just mean in the post two above the one where I told you "as above". Basically I gave a link to where you can watch the game again and suggested that you do it - if you can be arsed of course - because I'd be interested to know if your opinion changed.
I agree with that sentiment. It's of course finding the right balance, because for sure one of our failings this season has been our laboured build up leading to few goal scoring opportunities. Against Sunderland we did very well in this regard and at the same time controlled the game, much better than we've done against other similar teams this season.
Its hard to judge truly though when the opposition come to sit deep with the mantra being come and break us down.
Both sides know we're going to dominate the ball and that's exactly what we did, so when the emphasis is on offensive duties, as there is no midfield battle really, its hard to really judge like you would in a more contested sort of game.
As it stands I thought they did pretty well. We played some good football and that pairing was obviously partly down to that.
