That's ridiculous. 40k for a player who fills a very specific void in our squad and as you told me, a played poch rated highly. That is not backing the manager.
If Zaha was earning £15k prior to signing a new contract we probably thought £40k would be more than enough to entice him. We was wrong!

Must admit, I hadn't realised he'd joined them on the last day of the window, maybe because he's not played a single game.

But I'm pretty sure he was the midfielder we were linked with strongly towards the end of the window wasn't he ?

There was him and Andre Gomes that we were linked too

From what Poch said it sounds like we're targeting English players.

From what Hercules said it sounds like 2 deals are in the bag - but he knows not whether they'll be January or summer arrivals.
I missed this, what did he say please?

Balls on the line time in January, shift Rose and get Barkley and Sessegnon in. Look at a Zaha type and a back up striker. January is a crap market but it's looking like a vital one for us, things need freshening up.

Do I think we will? This is Spurs so no. More likely to sell Rose and get Sessegnon tied up for the summer leaving us with Vertonghen as LB cover for 5 months...

Pretty sure Hercules stared that Sessegnon does not depend on Rose going.

I haven't heard much on Barkley's rehab but that scar picture he put up on twit/insta what ever it is looked bloody awful. I don't know how close he is to any sort of return.

Others more informed might have a better idea.

I will be delighted if we can sign Zaha.

Extremely skillful, speedy, confident and has taken on the responsibility at his club. Crystal Palace is his home and he clearly enjoys being there but if the opportunity came I think he will take it. He didn't do justice for himself the last time he got a big move and I'm not sure he is a big fish/small pond footballer. Was the wrong time to make that move and he seems to accept it.

What he will offer us is something we don't have - Son aside. It's that ability to get defenders backpeddling. It's all very well passing from one player to another in between the lines and trying to be precise in opening up a defence. When it works it is beautiful.

However when it doesn't - this season so far it hasn't - you need individualism. This is what the other top six teams have in abundance. Players who can get on the ball and take an opponent or two out of the game by being able to dribble well. Spurs team in the past have always had a dribbler - this team is more rounded and much stronger in other areas - but a top notch dribbler elevates it.

No chance we’re getting Zaha - even if he did decide in the summer that he wanted to move, he’s much more likely to go to somewhere like Chelsea or Arsenal than us.

Can see Arsenal trying to sign Zaha to take over the speedy wing role that Walcott has had (when he's not injured).

This.

We’ve surely missed our chance now. We just don’t sign top attacking players from established Premier League teams nowadays. We can’t afford the fees or compete on the wages.

It’s pure fantasy to speculate otherwise IMO.

I would absolutely love Levy to prove me wrong, but he’s shown time and time again that he can’t stomach the finances of these deals.

Very true but your comments will evoke a reaction from those that don't want to see or hear valid stuff like that you have been warned mate (y)

When it comes to Zaha I have been really impressed by him this season. I disagree with BC's view that he cannot help to unlock deep lying defences.

But I also think BC is right that we have a better option in Son who is struggling to get games.

So do we really need two when we rarey play one? It's a genuine concern regarding the signing.

I think it's about having options off the bench if anything, to compete we surely need better than Nkoudou and Sissoko.
