Pulisic linked with Man United.

Seri linked with City, Chelsea, Everton.

Two players that would undoubtedly make us a better team. Seri for a reported 25m.

These are the names I want to see, but being a realist, I will come to love the Cornet's and the up and coming youth like Ryan S.
I know there’s been ITK on Pulisic being available to us at a reasonable price and that he would be happy to come. I do think for a young player the prospect of playing under Poch is much more appealing then playing for Mo. If there is any truth in this rumour at all then I wish we would tie this up ASAP even if he doesn’t come till summer. Considering his age and ability he has massive potential, he is exactly what we need more of and incredibly marketable considering we will be hosting NFL games. I would also think his wages won’t be out of this world at this point. Really him or Fekir would be the perfect move for us and a excellent stament if intent for Levy.

People moan about our depth but when all fit which is very soon will be some big names on the bench.
4231-sanchez Dier Lamela benched
343- Dier dele Lamela benched

Dier will get games in rotation and personally I’d be starting Lamela. But Poch will certainly have some decisions. Imagine adding Barkley and Zaha to that bench. I’d imagine we would start getting some disgruntled players. However the likelihood of all fit at same time is slim.

Not with our record with injuries recently, we'd be extremely lucky to have a fully fit squad throughout the season.

These 2 posts sum up expectations of the transfer window IMO. On one side, we want players to improve the team (probably at the expense of players who we really like). On the other side, we don't pay huge wages to subs. What people fail to specify is who they would like to drop if we sign a new player. It's easy when a player is a bit off form or carrying an injury, but to cover all bases we would need a huge, bloated squad with extremely good players on the bench or not even making the squad. For that to happen we need to become a rich man's play thing, and I for one would abhor that.

Not sure how my post is related to that but okay...It's not about dropping players it's about adding healthy competition to the squad.

Indeed, Bromley FC , currently 8th in the National League Premier, are known as the Ravens.
And for those not acquainted with London, Bromley is the biggest Borough in area in Greater London and also one of the largest in population. There are plenty of Spurs fans down here, including myself.

Weirdly they used to be called the Lillywhites. Loads of yids down this way

You've missed the Fulham boys off here too - what if they came?
And then where do all our youngsters pressing for spots fit in?

As you said, we've had a bad run of injuries which has left us depleted. My point was that having quality players to step in under those circumstances could leave some players marginalised. As an example, if we did sign Pulisic, would Son deserve (or be happy) to get less game time. If Son moved on we'd be back in the same position again. I'm not saying we have any chance of doing that but just using it as a scenario.

That can only be a positive for us though if you think about it, we want players pushing each other for starting spots and we want quality options off the bench, if a player isn't getting game time it just means that the player who is playing in their spot is playing very well, we'd rather that scenario then leave ourselves short again.

Completely agree, but that would be in an ideal world where said players are paid off to keep quiet and other players form an orderly queue to take their place if they eventually decide they'd like to play football and move on. We don't operate in that world and personally speaking, I'm glad we don't.

Pulisic makes perfect sense both from an improving the team point of view (pacey option), age point of view (potential sell on value), and commercial point of you (NFL/America).

Which probably means it won’t happen ;)

As a bench option to come on and change games and run at tired defences plus experience I quite liked the look of that Gomez chappie at Atalanta
Getting on a bit but tenacious great dribbles and makes goals and pops up with the odd goal here and there.
29 but prob not that expensive and cheap wages (guess) Argentine international dual nationality would do a good job I think for a cpl of years ?

And when that happens we sign the next potential player to replace them, that is how you preserve squads I guess.

I think that's where we've been for a number of years as well as bringing our own player through. The trouble is that people see our nearest rivals signing the ready made players and expect us to do the same, not only for our starting XI but also to fill the bench. I know it isn't realistic but we can all dream a bit.

I Think having expensive signings on bench is just the way you have to go if you want to compete with top 6 . Top clubs will always have 1 or 2 off from that have to sit unhappy on bench.Squad wise the 3 obvious upgrades are
Sissoko
Nkoudou
Llorente

If Kovacic is ready to move on for first team football, and for £27mill, we should be busting a gut to get him here. Exactly the sort of player we need in this team, in a position we have been found somewhat wanting recently too. Especially if Barkley is now too far off with regards his injury.
