It's nearly a week now so perhaps everyone has calmed down a bit. And it's before the season starts so we still don't think of Keane as a Liverpool player.

I just thought I'd like to say "Thank you" to Robbie Keane.

Thank you for the £20m. You could have done a Scumbell but didn't.

Thank you for the 107 goals. Pity you didn't hang around for another season or two to break into the top 5 all time Spurs goals scorers. Maybe you'll return like Teddy.

Thank you for the goal against Villa where you came on as a sub and danced through from midfield to score and kick start another 5th place season.

Thank you for those two 5th place seasons.

Thank you for that well earned penalty against arsenil, well slotted home.

Thank you for the goal against arsenil where a scum pretends to be injured and Wenger loses his head with Jol.

Thank for the one against Blackburn, throw from Mido, danced past three player to slot home.

Thank you for those dances after defeating arsenil and chelski.

Thank you for being a Spurs and giving your all for Spurs for 6 years even though romantic heart was a Liverpool one.

:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

And please please do not do your usual scoring against your old team.

There was only one Keano. Those were the days. Those were the days.

Come on Bent outscore Keano.

My outstanding memory of Robbie Keane was in a 2-0 win against Leeds back in November 2002, my first time at WHL, when he curled home a first time shot with the outside of his foot. I was behind the goal, directly in line with the shot and saw it bending into the net, a sweet goal. We played well that day too.

I'll see can I find a video of it later.

He scored better goals than that one, but that one is definitely one of my favourites.

I still wouldn't say 'thank you', exactly. Maybe if he had reserved the tears and excitement at the end of the CC final.

Sincerely cheers for the good times Robbie, but now I hope your career with the bindippers is as successful as the titanics maiden voyage.

I cant help but be annoyed with Keane, cos he was crying saying how much he loved the club then soon as liverpool came in for him it was suddenly his boyhood club ho he longed to play for when we have all seen videos of him cheering on celtic talking bout how much he loves em... just think that fact makes him a bit of an arsehole in my books, id have sooner he just said it was his chance to play in the champions league then lie bout it being his boyhood club

probably im still just bitter cos he was my favourite player tho

I'll clap him when he comes back to the Lane. He gave us 5 years good service, we got a hefty transfer fee for him, the club will kick on without him.

We have enough talent on the pitch to fill any gap he might have left but yes, he was a good player who gave his all with great enthusiasm during his years with us.

He will no doubt do the same sort of thing at Anfield. Loyalty isn't a word he really understands but football and scoring goals he undoubtedly does.

I still maintain we've had his best years and that he won't be as successful at Liverpool. Time will tell if he has made a bad mistake.
We'll do okay without him and will spend the fee we got for him wisely.

if we replace him with Arshavin for the same money, then we should be thanking keane for moving on.

i wont clap or boo him when he returns, Arshavin will make us forget him quick enough.

As it's been pointed out before, the majority of Irish males would have Celtic as their 2nd team. Like many before him it would be very much the norm for Keane to be a Liverpool fan #1 and then a Celtic fan growing up. I don't recall at any stage during his signing for Spurs did he says he has always been a Spurs fan. What he was was a Spurs player that gave his all while he was with us. Amongst the mobs of Man U, Liverpool, and scum fans, only the chosen few in Ireland start as Spurs fans.

However, I wouldn't be saddened if Keane and Liverpool flopped this season and ended up behind Spurs. That would be sweet.

The same money? At half the goal scoring rate as Keane. £10m would be about right. Totally unproven in a top class league. If Arshavin was any good he's have been picked up by a big club a long time ago. The only reason Zenit won the UEFA was because clubs like Spurs messed up.
