I am sorry the English Premier League is suffering from a lack of true star players at the moment it is the weakest it has been for 15 years and instead of wanting the brand which they do their punditry or reporting on to be stronger they try to weaken it. I do not understand their insistence that they want all the top players at two or three clubs in the world and the main two are not even in our league. My personal belief is they should be arguing reasons for Spurs and Everton's top players to stay nit link them away and report or comment how if the player wants to progress with their career they need to play for Man Utd, Real Madrid or Barcelona.

I was sat in the car ealier listening to TALK-repititive-guff-most-of-time-about-totally-meaningless-stuff-SPORT, and they were talking about Bale that it's not so much a certainty (this was Adrian "trollolol" Duhram's spot btw) that he's leaving, more that he has already left spurs and is available for free transfer for whichever "big club" fancies him.

I have no illusions that he won't leave us, but the way they were talking about him as though he was a united player was just sickening with not a word, nor mention that he might be happy where he is or how he should stay there.

You should read the daily star, its a paper form of talk sport. You'd like it.

One thing that I thought was quite disrespectful was on SSN this morning, it had 'Bale destination September 2013 odds' and we were not even on the list!

I don't think the PL has a lack of stars at all, I just think the footballing world has shrunk alot due to the Internet and people are always partial to a bit of foriegn/different tart.

There is only one thing ruining the league and that is playboy billionaire owners which I hope the new rules well sort out. Oh and agents will the the death of football.

like I've said many times before don't get to attached to the modern day footballer....but it does grate me how anytime we get a decent player on our books it quickly turns to how much his leaving for.

To be fair if silly money were to be offered we'd have to consider it sad but Tottenham comes first.

If we do finish 3rd this season then surely Chelsea, Arse, Everton and Liverpool should sell their star players too?

this is spot on, every single player is known now, you can google the reserve left back for swansea and get his wikipedia, game-to-game appearances, youtube compilations.

thus everyone seems less of a star since there's no 'aura' to any player anymore, except ronaldo/messi. or maybe the quality of play has risen to a level where everyone has the same attributes and no one stands out that much anymore.

you know what you know well, so you get bored with it. hence every single person tottenham/any team is linked with thats not in the prem being seen as a savior/brilliant/potentially world class.. why? because you havent seen any of him, and if you have, its through compilations

Yup.
If, and I know it is a big ask, but if we manage to finish second will Citeh have an immediate fire-sale of their expensively assembled squad? More to the point, will the meeja be talking as though that is an inevitability?

TWATS...stopped buying papers years ago - you pay their wages.

Can we not cooperate with boards and start perpetuating rumors about journos regarding moves abroad, to marca or gazetto for example??
