With all the new contracts, I thought it could be a good idea to create a thread dedicated to them- Rumours and the Announcements could go in here and we'd be able to see the progress of players over time.

The following players have been linked with contract extensions:

Vertonghen- Expires in 2018

Lloris- Expires in 2019

Walker- Expires in 2019

Rose- Expires in 2019

Lamela- Expires in 2019

Kane- Expires in 2020

Alli- Expires in 2021

I think ESPN said yesterday that new contracts for Walker and Rose were the closest. The only one that's a bit concerning at the moment is Vertonghen- as his contract expires in 2018 (and that's with the +2 option I think). That needs to be a priority.

I wouldn't be surprised if CCV signs a new contract soon as his current one expires in 2018
- the same can be said for Glover, KWP and Harrison. From what I can see, Amos's contract runs out next summer so a new contract for him would be necessary- and Poch seems to rate him as he has a squad number and he played in pre-season.
Maybe Walkes might get one as well, but that's just speculation based on the fact that he also played in pre-season.

Edit- And Edwards can sign a longer contract when he turns 18 (3rd December).

Would be difficult given that Toby's only been here for a year.
That shows how good he has been for us. If you are going to include Lloris as one of our highest earners it would be a travesty if Toby wasn't included as well. That is what I am trying to impart. Kane yes, as he was putting them in and Toby was also keeping them out (along Lloris). All contributed to make it a good season 2015 / 2016. I suppose I am hung up on the term main man.

http://www.footballinsider247.com/70000-week-midfielder-landmark-seven-year-tottenham-deal-report/?

Looks like coco signed a 7 year deal when he joined...

He needs to bin his agent if that was the case

But there is no need to rush into negotiations with Erik Lamela, asTelegraph Sport can reveal Tottenham signed the Argentine on a six-year contract with an option the club can take up for a seventh year.

It means Lamela still has three more years on his original deal, with the likelihood that Spurs will at some point trigger their option of a further 12 months.

Wondering why all of a sudden so many players are signing new contracts, no doubt for more money, and it occurs to me that this is a fancy piece of financial footwork by Daniel Levy.
As we all know, Premier league clubs have come into a ton of money this season and it has had a massive impact on club's spending, it seems like club records have been broken all over with the transfer fees being paid, some, like West Ham took the "loadsamoney" approach waving wads of dosh around in a desperate attempt to tempt a player, any player at all, to join them, all to no avail but they did epitomise the general attitude during the Summer window.
Daniel Levy by contrast seems to have decided, contrary to what some people think, that he is going to spend this money but not on transfer fees, no, he is spending it on wages; why spend a fortune trying to replace your top players when they leave if you can spend a smaller fortune ensuring they don't leave in the first place, makes sense to me.
