Don't forget we've cleared a serious amount of players out over the last couple of years, and replaced many of them with youth products. It's a lot easier to give Harry Winks a new contract when he's probably only gone up to about £10k a week from next to nothing than it is to reward the likes of Kane and Lloris. Not surprised if we've tied all our players down and still saved money on the wage bill as compared to a year or two ago.

really unusual to see so many contract renewals in such a short period of time

does it represent a wholesale restructuring of the wage structure at the club?

Have to wonder if all of them had clauses in previous contracts relating to new negotiations if qualified for CL last season.

With all the new contracts, I thought it could be a good idea to create a thread dedicated to them- Rumours and the Announcements could go in here and we'd be able to see the progress of players over time.

The following players have been linked with contract extensions:

Vertonghen- Expires in 2018

Lloris- Expires in 2019

Walker- Expires in 2019

Rose- Expires in 2019

Lamela- Expires in 2019

Kane- Expires in 2020

Alli- Expires in 2021

I think ESPN said yesterday that new contracts for Walker and Rose were the closest. The only one that's a bit concerning at the moment is Vertonghen- as his contract expires in 2018 (and that's with the +2 option I think). That needs to be a priority.

I wouldn't be surprised if CCV signs a new contract soon as his current one expires in 2018- the same can be said for Glover, KWP and Harrison. From what I can see, Amos's contract runs out next summer so a new contract for him would be necessary- and Poch seems to rate him as he has a squad number and he played in pre-season.
Maybe Walkes might get one as well, but that's just speculation based on the fact that he also played in pre-season.
excellent idea for a thread and something I often wonder. So a great resource to have on the site.

Thank you for taking the time and effort

On Talksport yesterday, the Danny Rose contract extension was one of the headlines...Durham couldn't think of anything negative or wind up-able to say so just said "Danny Rose signs a new 5 year contract with Tottenham...it's all getting a bit boring now..."

Signing all our young/top players to long contracts is fantastic and just shows what a great place it must be to go and work/play everyday...Happy Days!

It really must be a great place to work for these kids

I've been to the training facilities and it's all top notch, from the gym, physiorooms to the indoor and outdoor pitches and training areas

On top of that they're mostly around the same age and seem to be pretty well bonded so it's like working with your best mates and playing the game you love for a job

On top of that the club is no longer a joke. no longer unfashionable and no longer in the shadow of the top clubs (well maybe just a bit of shade left) It's a club on the rise

It all sets us up well to continue our linear progression if we can create some stability and mould their careers correctly over the next few years

Hopefully it's Poch himself. Poch signing a contract next to Poch would be great. Poch-ception.

Levy must be very sure that wages will continue to spiral and that any deal done now is a good one. Probably makes sense given that premiership income streams are global and the pound will continue to plummet.

Stopped listening to Talksport about 8 years ago but Durham like sounds like the mouthy gobshite at school who used to shout inane things out at people in the mistaken belief volume and frequency equated to hardness only to ball his eyes out if he ever followed through on a particularly moist and forceful fart
