Nothing has begun there at all. Bond has towed the party line of Levy doesn't want to let him go, so will not.

Saying everyone has their price is common sense; as if Chelsea suddenly bid 60 million for Modric we would be stupid not to sell. However they will not go that high and hence we will feel no need to sell a player for their pathetic offers when it would cost more than that for us to find a similar quality replacement.

I dont think Zamora would be that bad, i know hes not the name people are after but hes 100% more effective than Crouch, i wouldnt be gutted if we got him but i think we would still need 1 more striker that improves over the other guff we have.

I get what you are saying, but the reality is that Zamora is constantly injured so would only be a fit for a quarter of the season. When you then consider how much he would cost, it becomes pretty clear that Zamora would not be able to make a contribution in line with how much we would have to pay, and hence this deal is a non-starter as far as I can see.

Not over the top at all. This "all mates together" thing that Harry, Bond, Brazil, Willie Mackay etc have going on is wholly unprofessional. As the poster said, no other proper managers/assistant manager do this.

Yes true, he is English after all. I think my point was more people go shit ape over names like Rossi etc but i want a fit to the team over a super duper name who looks good on paper.

Im sick of it all to be honest.

If Modric wants to go. Sell him.
If Bale wants to go after. Get rid.
VDV, Dawson, etc etc. If they dont want to play for THFC then sod them. Its got to the point where I really dont care anymore.

Football has changed. and to be honest I dont like the game anymore. But the problem is I do LOVE THFC.

But I have come to accept that the game is all about MONEY. We dont have as much MONEY as 5 clubs in the country. So therefore we will not be able to compete and our best players will want to jump ship. Gone are the days that a club could build a team over 3/4 years and win trophies. Its all about instant success now where clubs are just buying names in the hope that they succeed. Its a bit crap really and certainly isnt sport anymore.

WE CANNOT COMPETE and that is the long and short of it.

Lets just accept what we are and try and be happy. We are currently the 6th richest club in the league and guess what? Thats where we will finish. Sad aint it?!

I hate what Chelsea and City have done to our game.

Surely you can understand why quite a few are really pissed off about it. We had last summer and Jan, as a CL club, to bring in a new striker and we have had over 2 months of this window yet it seems we are no closer to getting one now.....

Yet you assume it's our end that's the issue. As opposed to (more likely) selling clubs unwilling to sell or players unwilling to come.

Frustrates me when people think that we aren't making a massive effort when it's plainly obvious we are.

I keep hearing this statement and it just isn't true at all. Our current striking options are so poor that we do not need some amazing superstar on £200k/week to significantly improve us where we so desperately need it, ie up front. We just need to show a little bit of imagination and be a lot more decisive.
