Why the fuck did potl say "deal"? I'm very surprised.

Because like every other ITK, you have to take a pinch of sodium chloride with his information and even the best sources of information can be wrong from time to time. Lets face it, the deal quite clearly isnt done but for POTL to assume it was, must mean we arent a million miles away.

Hope is our enemy people. For the sake of our collective sanities, let's accept we'll be watching Crouch & Defoe again this season, I'm too tired to fight it anymore. I've been worn down and I admit defeat, I can't stand this rollercoaster of false hope constantly being dashed.

Same here, but ill take a crumb of comfort that we have two exciting academy prospects that may get a chance to impress.

Well with the Stoke Chairman confirming that they have bid for Crouch and Palacios and Keane saying that he'll be leaving, that could open the door for Diarra and hopefully a striker! Atm, I'd happily take Hunterlaar who 'The Journalist' brought up. Him and Rafa would have played together for Holland and maybe even at Ajax, so could work for us?

POTL could be spot on, it very often happens (especially with us) that we tie things up and then only reveal the deal later on.

RM might want us to hold off the announcement if they are trying to sign someone, we might equally be holding off whilst we try and complete a WP out deal.

I wouldn't get your knickers in a twist just yet.

If come 31st August there's no deal, then we can question the info, but even then, we all know what we signed up for when entering this forum.

I'm sorry but is there another report on this 'bid confirmed by Stoke Chairman', other than 365? One that actually contains a quote from the Chairman?

Because if this 365 report is all there is then No one has read beyond the Headline and sub heading.

No quote, either direct or indirect, no confirmation from anyone affiliated with Stoke.

Nothing more than a Brass Balls statement then waffle about Matthew Upson.

I'm starting to think that the population on here has been fleshed out with Lemmings! :bang:

I think waiting until the 31st August is generally going to have to be the plan for this window. We may make some fantastic last minute signings, we may not. The info we have beengiven may turn out to be true, and some of it may not.

But I think now that it's pretty clear we're going to be dipping for the line with this window, we'll have to be patient in the next three weeks.

Maybe, just maybe, we should be getting excited about actually playing a competitive match on Saturday!

Agree with this 100%, if anything I think it will be us holding the announcement till either Jenas or palacios deal is done.

I get the impression we have agreed personal terms with Diarra (hence "deal") as all talk previously was about wages. We are now finalising the transfer fee which I am sure will be accepted.

Because POTL is the account used by the THFC marketing department and they needed something to calm the anger of the fans the night before the Bilbao game

Isn't that the wrong way round? you agree the fee first and then talk to the player.

I guess they didn't envisage that there would be even more anger then before when in fact there wasn't any deal. I doubt your theory
