Does Drogba want 1st team football then he'll come to us. Do the top 4 want to sell to us? No so forget rio unless he's fucked like king. Do we want to fuck up our the other top 4 teams then we will buy falco. downing for sale, ok if he is better than blud...and I think he is

I would expect Drogba to wait to speak to their new manager before making a decision on his future. Hiddink may think that Torres and Drogba will be his front two next year. Personally I hope we don't wait around too long and miss out on other targets.

If Man Utd won't sell Ferdinand to us who will they sell him to? It won't be Chelsea, Liverpool, or City and probably not Arsenal. If Rio is leaving them and wants to stay in England then his options will be limited because of his wages (although I'm sure he will take a pay cut if he moves). I can't think of many other teams that would take him. I was going to suggest Newcastle, but if they can't agree wages for Nolan and Barton then Rio would be out of their league.

First two for me. With their movement and the creativity of vdV, Modric, Bale, Lennon and Hudd, we'd absolutely tear teams apart. The movement and intelligence of the pair of them would be such a contrast to anything we've seen at WHL for the last 3 years.

Leandro as a 3rd striker could then provide a more physical option.

Falcao, Rossi and Leandro = arguably the best strikeforce in the league and all in their early 20s (Falcao being the oldest at 25).

£60-65m outlay, at least £40m of which can be recouped by selling 8-10 deadwood players.

That would be the dream summer anyway.

yes please, add to that Parker or Diarra and we'd win the league!!!

Has the Llorente link completely been cut now?

Shame...

Llorente and Falcao up front would make me spunk.

I wouldn't say we are being left behind by Liverpool, more like they are trying to catch up to our current position. Liverpool went into last season with only 4 senior home grown players last season (Gerrard, Carragher, Glen Johnson and Joe Cole). That has given them quite a few issues in terms of squad depth and it makes their strategy for upcoming seasons more difficult.

Whilst they have been well overpaying for young English players, I think it is likely that those young English players will stay at Liverpool for a long time and develop together. They aren't in a position to compete right now but it will give them more flexibility in the transfer market a year or two down the line with their solid core of young English players.

We already have that home grown squad core and we have the flexibility to go out there and bring in the finishing pieces. Liverpool are at least a season behind in that respect. I think they have over done it with the prices but I can see the logic.

I agree the the sentiment that this feels like it might be a lastminutescramble of a window.

And don't anyone dare tell me 'yeah, but it's very early in the window' ffs!
It's not early, it's two transfer windows overdue!!!
The window hasn't even opened yet

Yeah the bloke who sits in front of you at the lane got wind of that and had a word with Daniel...so no Llorente and your potential ejaculations are to blame:evil:

The Gyan/Crouch swap could be a goer. Also im told that Rossi is holding out for a move to Barca or back to italy so a deal is very unlikely (this ones gonna happen at the last minute if anything). Leandro deal has stalled over inter haggling over the fee and third party issues. Thats all ive got for now...Will try get some news on Falcao, Rio and others soon

I'm going to put my nadgers on the line and say we won't sign anyone today.

(note: TSH retains the right to remove his nadgers from the line should it look like anyone is having a medical).

What do people think of Alan Brazil in terms of his knowledge in the premier league regarding transfers?

I know he works for talkshite but he's no Adrian Durham.

He believes Harry will get Rio.

I think Brazil is about 0 for 50 in his last few bits of transfer babble.
