Er, I'm pretty sure that's rubbish and it's because we haven't agreed a fee with WBA.

Jesus daggers are out today. Sorry for reading the ITK we've been given by JJ late on yesterday, digesting it and deciding that there's no need for prozac quite yet.

Berahino has sure turned into a world class player since we are desperate to have a forward
I just don't know how we have become desperate. This situation hasn't just arisen we've known about it for months.
Thirteenth richest club in the WORLD and we can't organize the purchase of a striker. Laugh or cry.

I'm not suggesting there is any need to panic, but people are setting themselves up for the traditional deadline day wrist slitting, but taking fairly oblique positive ITK, and interpreting it that the deal is done, Berahino will be wearing a Spurs kit under his WBA one tonight.

The club has obviously received encouragement from him and his advisors, but we know Levy will only do a deal if the financials are right, and there is no solid info yet that monies have been agreed.

Was gonna say something similar.

We're pinning all our hopes on someone who if we'd watched him in most WBA games last season would have thought "he's ok"

He's new and therefore shiny though.

Quite the opposite, we are just happy to wait and see what has happened without drawing conclusions, where as you have decided its not happening because "thats what always happens".

Agreed, and it all seems on there terms. Sorry we have to wait till out striker Rondon is ok to come blah blah blah. You bid enough money, you say to the player do you want to play for spurs now, yes or no, and do the deal or move on. Not wait a month into the season and say are you ready to play for us now? So annoying

Speak for yourself. I for one think he's a very talented player who would add much needed pace and goals to our side.

Have no idea what's going on, seeing as lots of ITK has linked us with SB and some suggesting he's been down to the training facility for whatever reasons.

Based on no ITK, IMHO:
I do think increasingly that it's a matter of coming to an agreement with WBA. They clearly value him very highly; young, British, can score in the EPL and may well have slapped a huge price tag on him (we really don't know if this is £15m or £30m). We (Levy) may be some way from that and perhaps we've been inching closer with various packages and payment structures.

This inching closer rather than an outright 'not paying that' may be the source of optimism, although we have no idea how far apart we are and so this could be agreed this week, on deadline day or not at all.

I hope the Club actually does monitor this site because there's a fairly clear message coming through from people at the moment.

Our team isn't about individuals anymore. It's about a system. And Berahino brings something to that system that it currently lacks - a bit of pace and directness.

JJ has been saying since Poch took over that we won't be signing 'names' anymore, rather young hungry players who slot effectively into our system. That's exactly what Berahino and Nigel are.
