The whole interview doesn't make sense.

My take is rose wants to move mainly for the money but he doesn't want to come across as a mercenary so he is using a few other excuses to try to push through a move

Not sure how DR and others would be able to complain as they pretty much all signed new recent contracts. If they didn't know they could get more money elsewhere then they need to get new agents.

This is part of why its all so odd to me, if contract negotiations had broken down and then he did this interview it would make the comments a bit more understandable.

One of the features of bringing players in is to show a united front. What Rose has done is to show any potential incoming that things are not what they seem to be. Rose along with his 'friends' at the s**t house paper has done a very damaging disservice to our club.

My guess is that rose asked to leave and was told no. Then he sees his mate walker leave and get a big pay rise. So the interview was he's fucked up way of trying to push a move through imo

The "man himself" on the 21st July literally said the words,"How have Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and different clubs tried to improve their season? By bringing in players and trying to put more pressure on their star players, their key players – and for us we need to do that too. For us we are a little bit behind, working hard in trying to finish and sign some players to try to help us bring some new energy and make our team more competitive". Fast forward a month and "what is seemingly too much to ask for is patience"?!!! Really?!! What is seemingly too much to ask for is a replacement right back. Tomorrow we are start the league campaign without a recognised first team right back, despite the "acknowledgement that our actual financial situation" sees the Club a whopping £70+ million to the good after player sales! Now, for me, the "bigger picture" is most importantly, supporting our manager by providing him with the reinforcements he's asked for, but as of now, and as the season kicks off, that clearly and unequivocally hasn't happened.

You'd think that the fact that right now the Chavs are £80m in the black with a very thin looking squad would make some posters realise that transfers aren't as simple as they like to make out, even for clubs where money is no object.

Rubbish. That's an excuse. It isn't a mistake. He wants out, wants to be on the wages he's seen walker getting & thinks this is the best way to go about it. Been tapped up probably by united.

Not sure why anyone should be surprised by the Rose interview. Here is the Goat's ITK from 16th June which now seems very prophetic.

The Goat hears (not for the first time) that there is unrest at Levy's tactics when it comes to contracts and signings, frustration from players, agents and others involved in transfers/contracts in and out. Sessegnon and his connections are losing patience as is Edwards and two or three first team players are interesting the Manchester clubs along with one other top (european) club. However it’d take an excessive bid for us to sell. These players do not include Kane or Alli. The Goat assumes these are Dier and Walker.

The Goat also hears that our wages policy is starting to bite and one or two aren’t convinced at our ambition…… it would be no great surprise to see a number of players leave over the next year or two and although Rose fancies a move is prepared to give it another year but Toby wants a get out clause in any new deal. As was the case last year, Pochettino wants new players in before the 2nd week of pre-season.

Just wanted to add into the Rose talk

It was pointed out in interviews by a few players that Rose is Poch's "teachers pet" around the club.

Given that, it's hard to see him giving this type of interview but I guess things change.

Not strictly ITK but this thread reads so differently when the constant negative posts are ignored/on ignore. In fact I'm feeling extremely positive about the upcoming season and everything is going fine.

The thread only reaches a couple of pages though and that's mainly Stoof telling people to be patient
